Katy Perry Killer Queen ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 12 July 2013 16 Comments

Katy Perry Killer Queen

Katy Perry will launch Killer Queen, her third fragrance, in August. According to Ms. Perry,

Killer Queen is powerful, edgy, sophisticated — and that’s exactly where I’m trying to be now with my music.

Killer Queen was developed by perfumer Laurent Le Guernec; notes include wild berry, dark plum, bergamot, red velvet flower, jasmine, plumeria, cashmeran, patchouli and liquid praline.

Katy Perry Killer Queen will be available in 15, 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum, and in matching bath & body products.

A fruity floral, wow, what a surprise. That certainly is edgy.

Hard to say if it’s a fruity floral…might be more of an oriental? Can’t tell from the notes.

It looks like Vivienne Westwood took over a Chopard Wish bottle. The bottle design, I like. But any time a celebuscent is marketed as “edgy” I know I’ll wind up yawning.

She says she was inspired by JPG packaging, but you’re exactly right.

Whenever I see one of these amorphous bottles that can’t stand by themselves, I think that producing these perfumes… I mean the act of filling the bottles, must be a logistical nightmare.

About the notes: It sounds like a frutity oriental + sweet gourmand (the praline thing)

I hope it is not too sweet! This could be a great giftable for my sister! 😀

Fruity oriental + sweet gourmand + “edgy” = Angel clone. Greeeaat.

Did she have to drag Queen into this?

“Did she have to drag Queen into this?”

YES! Lady Gaga fans accused her of copying since Gaga says ” killer queen” in one of her songs so I’d do the same thing if I were her.

I feel the same way and I’ve said it before – if some celebrity names their perfume Bohemian Rhapsody, they’ll answer to me and my posse.

Red velvet flowers look cool, but I can’t find anything about their fragrance. Well, this wouldn’t be the first time …

This has awakened the Tacky Bottle poltergeist within me. She will not be silenced and I fear I will have this ere long.

And nothing says edgy and killer quite like berries plums and pralines.

I think edgy (and cool) refers to the bottle design only. Love the bottle!

That bottle is Pretty Damn Fantastic! 😉 The Notes sound Very Close to something good… just gotta wait and smell! I do really dislike Katy Perry… so not all that enthused but who knows… may smell LUSCIOUS!

And here I was hoping she would make one more cat bottle—a black one—and call the fragrance Hiss, LOL! If I’m not mistaken, someone in this forum suggested that name after Meow came out…
