Le Labo logo

What is it: 5 ml spray samples of Le Labo Lys 41 and Ylang 49.

How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment on the website telling me that you live in the US. Then tell me either a) your favorite Le Labo fragrance or b) your favorite summer floral or c) something else you've been dying to post in a comment.

Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! All replies to comments will be deleted!

The contest will be open until noon or so on Monday, and I'll announce the winner on Wednesday.

The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. Sadly, it sometimes usually takes me a month to mail a package. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.

I live in the U.S. I haven’t tried Le Labo, but I particularly like white florals, so I think I would really like to try Lys 41.

I live in the US, and if hard pressed to find a favorite among the Le Labo line, I’d say Rose 31 as well. Bergamote 22 is a close second. Malle’s Lys Mediterranee is great when applied in moderation for the summer!

I live in the US. I haven’t tried any Le Labo fragrances yet. Not sure about a favorite summer floral either. Thanks.

I live in the US and I haven’t unfortunately tried any of the Le Labo line, but my favorite summer floral so far would have to be FM’s En Passant; I do also like Lys Mediterranée, so I would be happy to try another good lily

Thank you for the contest. I live in the US and haved only tried (but loved) Le Labo Rose 31 so far, though there are many in the line that intrigue me. My favorite summer fragrance at the moment is Creed Virgin Island Water. Both Ylang 49 and Lys 41 sound beautiful, so it is nice to finally be excited about a fragrance launch again since I’ve reached the ‘ennui’ stage of perfumistahood. 😉

I’ve not yet tried any Le Labo fragrances, and would love to try these. My old summer favorite was Annick Goutal Songes, but this summer I’ve been wearing the new Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Bianca non-stop.

    I live in the US.
I don’t have any LeLabo scents, yet!

I don’t have any officially “summery” florals–I wear many of them year ’round–maybe Lipstick Rose?

Another comment I haven’t made? . . . I wonder how long it will take for my scents to impregnate my new house? When I move out, will I leave behind a waft of fragrance? I found a light in a thrift shop that smelled strongly of fragrance, and it made me wonder about the woman who’d owned it. 🙂

I live in the US. Sadly, I have yet to try Le Labo but these sound like they would be a fabulous introduction! I adore creamy bittersweet florals for summer, like Annick Goutal Le Jasmine, Agent Provocateur, and SSS Jour Ensoleille (in my purse now!).

I live in the US. I managed to pick up a Bouquet Blanc candle when they did their line with Anthropologie a few years ago. It is quite nice, but a little too much in this summer heat. However, that it the same reason I’m loving my Après l’Ondee right now. I spray it on right before going outside and it actually blooms a little. I can’t get enough of it.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

Hi Robin, I live in the US, and permish to use email.

Have yet to try a Le Labo, but have sniffed at my neighborhood Anthropologie, so I know why they are popular. My favorite summer frag would be Armani Code Summer.

    Thanks for the draw!!

    20 June 2013 at 1:40 pm

Oooh! I live in the US, and, to my shame and disappointment, I’ve not worn a single Le Labo fragrance. I’m new to living with someone who doesn’t get headaches from perfume, so I’m a late bloomer.

Rose 31 was the perfume of choice of a friend, though, and I’ve been fixating slightly. Also Ylang 49 itself sounds incredible.

  42. wefadetogray says:

I live in the USA, and am dying to try these fragrances. I’ve been hearing really wonderful things about them! My favorite Le Labo fragrance so far is Patchouli 24, which on a cold day is like being in front of a wood fire–so warming and comforting.

  50. Fernando says:
    20 June 2013 at 2:40 pm

I live in the USA. I haven’t tried all that many Le Labo perfumes, partly because of their ugly looks. I kind of like Patchouli 24, or which I have a decant. I rarely wear summer florals, but my wife swears by big white floral perfumes, even in the summer. (It’s nice to live in Maine!) But she’ll go for something like Bond No. 9’s Chelsea Flowers when it gets really hot.

  51. Emily says:
    20 June 2013 at 2:42 pm

I live in the US and you may contact me via e-mail. Patchouli 24 is my favorite Le Labo, though I still have a sample pack of the line’s perfume oils that I need to dip into. My favorite summer floral is probably Diptyque Olène.

  52. Suzy Q says:

    Hi Robin.
Favorite summer floral is Nuit de Tubereuse, even thought it’s not terribly floral.
We are scent twins, so I’m excited to try Lys 41!
    I live in the U.S.

  53. leathermountain says:
    20 June 2013 at 2:59 pm

Patchouli 24 so far! In the US. I caught a whiff of Lys and got interested. Read incredible things about Ylang and it’s a favorite note.

I am fascinated by Marjorie Rose’s musing about perfuming spaces and objects over time in a lasting way. And the other side of the coin: how environments (other than skin, paper) affect fragrances. I’ve spilled a few different perfumes on the hardwood floor. Bandit was stunning. I still think about that evening when I glance at a certain spot in my apartment. My place seems to love perfume as much as I do.

    1) I haven’t tried many Le Labos, but I liked Musc 25, Neroli 36 and Fleurs d’Oranger [whatever the number is].

    2) For florals: I’ve been layering Lush Lust over Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee. Might sound a bit heavy for summer but it’s really nice. I’m also enjoying Diptyque L’Ombre dans L’Eau right now.

  66. Merrily Row says:
    20 June 2013 at 3:46 pm

Both these Labos are on my short list and I would be so grateful for either. In the mean time I will have to content myself with Pacifica’s Malibu Lemon Blossom which is a more nuanced version of the Love’s Lemon Fresh of my California childhood. And I still live in California

I live in the United States. In sunny Alabama where I’m too far away from Le Labo at Barney’s. I would love either. My all time favorite frag is Le Labo’s LABDANUM. I smelled that and it’s been hard to beat so far. Only I’m running out and I can never get a chance to try their samples. I’m not allowed to go to Barney’s site. 🙂
I really want to win. I’m gonna meditate on it and pray jahahhah

I live in the US and would love to sample Lys 41 and Ylang 49! In the summer I find I chase anything with orange blossom in it… a bit embarrassing really! I line up all sorts of summer lovelies to choose from, but golly darn it if I don’t go for something with orange blossom 6 out of 7 days a week. It is a weakness.

Choose just one summer floral? Well, this year it’s SL Tubereuse Criminelle. I’m going big this year. My favorite Le Labo is Labnadum 18. Soooo goooood…

And, lastly, a question: any good apple blossom scents? A soliflore, if possible. For several years I’ve tried effleurage on our own apple blossoms, with disastrous effects. Any help is appreciated!

I live in the US, and I’d love to get to try these after reading the fabulous reviews here. The only Le Labo I have really tried out is Labdanum 18, which I do like, but not right now in the 90+ heat. My favorite summer (or any other time) floral is Shiseido White Rose.

My favorite is Labdanum 18 and I’m actually enjoying Yves Rocher Comme Une Evidence L’Eau which is a bit citrus and a teeny bit floral. It’s easy to wear in the heat, and I don’t have to worry that I’m killing my co-workers.

I live in the US. My fave Labo is the Patchouli although I do like the Iris as well (my favorite note!)

I live in the US and I am dying (dying!!!) to try Ylang 49. It’s literally SCREAMING out “BUY ME!!!” every time I read a review.

I looooove Iris 39. It’s my favorite Le Labo. Those folks over there are geniuses. Their perfumes are complex, beautiful and they last all day on my skin.

I live in the US, and have never tried any of the Le Labos. My favorite summer florals thus far are Elie Saab and Autumn Breeze by A Wing and a Prayer. I’d love to find a lily perfume that works on a sunny day.

I live in the US, and I have been meaning to explore the Le Labo line the next time that I am in Barneys. My favorite summer floral right now is the new Osmanthus by Jo Malone. It has made me want to sniff more osmanthus scents.
    Thanks.

    I live in the U.S.
When Le Labo fragrances were first launched, I bought a sample of each one and ended up buying Iris 39. Then several years later I tried a sample of Santal 33 and bought a bottle of that as well. However, all my friends fell in love with it and bought it and then I lost some interest in it as we all smelled of the same scent. Recently I fell in love with and Rose 31 and would have to say it is my favorite Le Labo scent. However, I have always been drawn to scents composed with ylang and am anxious to try that on and also the Lys. Thank you for the draw.

Yes, I do live in the USA 🙂
Fav is definitely Labdanum 18 (use the oil) and Rose 31 a close 2nd. Have not tried the new ones just released and am intrigued by the Vanilla one which I hear is only sold in Paris (?)
Please enter me in the draw.
    Thank you.

I live in the U.S. and even if I didn’t I’d be tempted to move here to get the chance to win the Ylang! I like Le Labo Neroli and Jasmin, but my favorite summer “floral” is Chanel’s Cologne (it counts, it really does!)

I would really love to get Ylang 49 for the obvious reason that is my name (not to mention that I love ylang scent). But, I don’t live in the U.S. So, I just sit here in the corner jealously looking at all of you who live in the U.S.

    j/k

Good luck to all of you!!

Favorite summer floral…. hmmm…. I’d have to say that I like a number of the Guerlains about equally: Chamade, Jardin de Bagatelle, Nahema, Mahora. Is Jicky a floral? Special mention to SSS Champagne de Bois.

Love Patchouli 24. It never fails to get a compliment from men of a “certain age” which is quite nice as I fall in the category of Old Maid by my co-workers standards. 🙂 Poo on them I say. I am in the States… but deployed.

Hi Robin– thanks for the draw….you can use my email and I live in the USA, etc, etc, I don’t currently have a fave Le Labo–maybe one of these will be a darling! My favorite summer frags are most of the Le Jardin Sur line (especially Sur le Toit) and Ineke’s Poet’s Jasmine. Of course it hasn’t gotten really hot yet, so that will change no doubt.
