Elie Saab Le Parfum Intense ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 4 June 2013 14 Comments

Elie Saab Le Parfum Intense

Elie Saab has launched Elie Saab Le Parfum Intense, a new variation on 2011's Elie Saab Le Parfum.

The new Eau de Parfum Intense from Elie Saab opens with a bright burst of orange blossom. The heart note gives way to a lush, nearly narcotic ylang-ylang, delicately tempered by the sweetness of rose honey. In the base note, patchouli and an ambery accord with a faint sugary tinge exude an enveloping trail full of bewitching, sensuous accents.

Elie Saab Le Parfum Intense can be found now at Harrods in the UK, in 30, 50 or 90 ml.

as I recall, the original was way too intense for me…and I’m a white flower fan. Sugary tinge? At least it’s faint!

I agree. The original was a beast….so the obvious thing for them to do was come out with a stronger, and possibly more radiant version. Makes perfect sense.

Thirding! Already I prefer the EDT, which admittedly doesn’t have great longevity but the EDP is just too overwhelming for me–can’t imagine a version that’s stronger still. I cast a suspicious eye on their claim that any part of it will be only “faint”!

Fourth. But maybe like some extraits, it will be softer & less diffusive.

I actually think a richer/sweeter/headier version of Elie Saab would appeal to me. I found the original almost too clean/crystalline/sharp. I have the body lotion (which a very nice Saks associate gave me with a purchase) and enjoy it well enough as a before-bed treat, but probably wouldn’t buy it on my own.

A faint, sugary tinge? Who writes this stuff?

A sugary tinge that emits a sensuous and bewitching trail? Huh.
I thought the first Elie was ok, I didn’t think it was beastly, though, I can handle bombs..I’d sniff a stronger version, though, not too keen on sweeter though.

This line is getting a bit crowded eh. I wonder if it will be like Narciso Rodriguez for Her and J’Adore – so many versions and flankers and LEs that the average consumer can’t keep up. But I’ll give this new one a try. I nearly bought the Elie Saab EDT – it did not jangle at my nerves like the EDP – but I got diverted by other things.

A good aspect to ES is that it is not expensive. I’ve seen the EDT in 30 mls for not much more than fifty bucks.

I would be interested in trying this. I know they are very different perfumes but I would relate the progression concept of the Elie Saab perfume line to the Cartier Baiser Vole EDP, EDT and Extrait set…each concentration better than the previous one and the EDP was already fabulous IMHO.

My almost 51 year old hide did not retain this luminous beauty much beyond 4 hours. I would appreciate a concentration that stayed a bit longer.

Neiman does have it. During their fragrance event, this fragrance was one of the samples they put in the gift. I loved it immediately! Something about it was unique. Can’t wait to get a bottle,
