Yum!
Hate the names, but they do sound good.
The names do stink. I don’t like caramel much or toffee apple candy floss..Skin on Skin sounds ok.
Skin on Skin is calling my name…
I’m right with you on that one! I’ll definitely seek this one out.
Yep.
Skin on Skin does sound really nice, but I’m kind of intrigued by the gunpowder note in Amour Nocturne.
Me too!
Sound intriguing.
BTW can’t they just translate the “candy floss” part of the copy they send stateside into “cotton candy?” Candy floss sounds a little more elegant, but it’s cotton candy, people. Your perfume smells like cotton candy. Actually, why not just call it “spun sugar” which is less culturally-specific and sounds the most elegant? Problem solved.
Yeah…but seriously might be a translation issue & nothing more. Also both sources are UK, don’t know what they say there.
‘Candy floss’ is the British name for ‘cotton candy’. The French term is ‘barbe à papa’ (daddy’s beard). 🙂
Excellent, thanks!
We call it fairy floss here, and I still don’t want to smell like it!
Maybe Skin on Skin though…
BTW BTW cedar and hot milk together actually sounds pretty gross. :/
Hot milk, gunpowder, orchid…. Amour Nocturne sounds like dirrrrty stuff, like it’s just going a shade more metaphorical than Secretions Magnifique.
Same thought. I’ll still sniff and hope to be pleasantly surprised but as a way to sell perfume, that description seems… challenging?? 😉
attractive bottle, but hope for $ saved–1st 2 sound too sweet, last one would be nice minus the lavender
Money saved, yep!
I like the bottles (which evoke their parfums d’ambience), and I’ll be curious to sample, of course… but I wonder what they’re up to with this seeming departure from their standard line. Ah well, something new is always good, I suppose. Proof will be in the sniffing.
Hate the 125ml size, and it feels like they’ve been gradually getting rid of the 50ml size in many scents. Do not like.
I was very surprised to see what looks like the room spray bottles…can’t think why they’d do that. Wish it was a coffret of 15 ml, but that’s what I always wish.
And L’Artisan always used to do coffrets of 15-mL bottles, which I thought was genius. (I sort of regret not having bought the Humeurs coffret, even though the reviews made it sound like the majority of them wouldn’t have been me.) I bought the Epices trio and later a full bottle of Safran Troublant: those little bottles are like a gateway drug.
Price is more or less on par with the Dior privee collection – also 125ml bottles.
Merlin do you have any favorites in that Dior collection?
I am so happy that 2 of them are gourmand oriented 😀 but the metallic note and gunpowder I am not so sure… (shivers at memory of Secretions Magnifique)
Want, Want, Want! It’s about time they changed bottles and did something like this. The 3 of them sound very intriguing and strong and different, they make me think of the old west and long dresses 🙂
