Diptyque Eau Moheli ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 17 April 2013 14 Comments

Diptyque Eau Moheli

Diptyque will launch Eau Moheli, a new fragrance in the Les Florales collection (see Eau Rose). The name comes from Mohéli, one of the three Comores islands.

Eau Moheli was developed by perfumer Olivier Pescheux; notes center on ylang ylang and also include pink pepper, ginger, patchouli, vetiver, benzoin and incense.

Diptyque Eau Moheli will be available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette and 20 ml roll on; look for it in May.

Update: see a review of Eau Moheli.

I’m intrigued! I’m not much of an Eau Rose fan (which is crushing since I’m totally enamored with the bottle), but I’m hopeful this could have more going on.

Ditto to all of that. I’m not even always a huge fan of ylang, but this sounds like it has the potential to be wonderful.

Totally. I have no strong feelings about ylang ylang either, but the combination described sounds promising!

It does sound nice…I’m hoping the patchouli doesn’t swallow the other scents whole, as it often seems to do…

Oh, I know what you mean about patchouli and agree, Maggiecat! It sounds lovely though and in general, I get on well with Diptyque fragrances, so I have high hopes for this one

Agree with you both, hoping patchouli-by-way-of-Diptyque will work better for me than patch often does. But that seems like a thing that could happen!

Doesn’t seem likely w/ a Diptyque, as they rarely go heavy on anything these days.

I *am* a big ylang fan, so this sounds like a must-try for me. Could be just the thing for summer. I’m assuming it’s supposed to be on the lighter side, what with the “Eau” and the big bottle?

I would assume the same, but we’ll have to see!

Although Eau Lente is anything but light!

Can’t wait to smell this one.

It does sounds interesting indeed :) if not, then there is always a pretty bottle to look at :) At least these huge bottles…I don’t like the new packaging on the normal bottles :(

Okay, I’m excited. I love several Diptyque eaux and I love ylang-ylang, so I have high hopes for this.

Just tried it and was reminded of Carla Fracci which is perhaps even a better ylang, but not easy to find. This should be a good summer fragrance for people who like white flowers. My low patchouli tolerance was tested not at all.
