Wow! That’s a huge sample vial. I bet it smells fabulously weird and unpleasant with this combination of Marc Jacobs Dot, some Cartier, Justin Bieber and 1397 others…

I bet it is there but with so many perfumes mixed together I wouldn’t be surprised if this mix was radioactive 😉

I don’t think so, Mutzi. I *think* in the fine print at the end, it said Everything contained samples of everything released in 2012. I need to re-watch to make sure.

It kind of reminds me of this article I saw:

Ha! Now I know what I can do with all my unwanted samples. If people complain about the resulting smell, I can say, “But it’s Conceptual Perfume!”

IFRA must want to claw off their skin thinking about this. All those allergens!

Call the IFRA ….STAT! I think I got a touch of a rash just from watching all those samples ….

It probably smells like a duty free shop or the Harrods perfume hall.

It probably smells like the inside of my perfume armoire. Just a generic ‘perfume’ smell (which is what most Duty Frees and perfume halls smell like! Even though I wouldn’t ever wear that smell, I enjoy opening up the armoire and getting that ‘perfume’ smell!

      xo

my three cabinets each smell a bit different –all pleasant….all “very well blended” …I love to open the doors and stick my face right in for a good nose-hit. Not sure I’d want to wear that smell though.
        😉

Robin, I admire your even-handedness in not including even the tiniest bit of snark along with this announcement. I think I would not have been able to resist the urge.

Sometimes these post-modern ironic conceptual art things are nearly snark-proof – what can you say that isn’t as pretentious and self-indulgent as the project in question? I am stymied 😉

I loved this video! Great music too. It makes me want to dump all of my unloved samples together just to see what I get!

I’m replying a few days late, so you probably won’t see this. I just fell in love with Kenzo Jungle l’Elephant and bought a fb! Different strokes, etc. 🙂

I love the scent I get when I open the drawer containing my perfume samples and decants, which presumably consists of a little bit of everything in the drawer. Of course, it doesn’t contain any trite celebuscents or mainstream fruity florals…

I don’t think it matters, 50 Roses. I think there’s just that generic ‘smell’ of perfume. I love that smell – it’s glamorous, in a weird, generic way, even though I would never wear it!

I’m pretty sure it will smell very sharp and alcoholic. You already get that from mixing 2 perfumes together … the molecules fall apart (or sth like that) and the end result will be some kind of ultra-shap rubbing alcohol smell…

    was at Colette

they didn’t have a tester standing around, but the sales assistants had one hidden away. only tried it on paper tho.

it smells… like scent strips in magazines. like, if you’d take a magazine with several scent strips in it, that’s what it smells like. pleasant enough, but then again i never understood scent strips these days…

not really. the new Carven was being promoted and the people there were visitors from the Paris Fashion Week mostly, so i’d say there were few perfume enthusiasts.

oh, and the new Carven smells like Miss Dior (Cherie).

it starts off fresher tho. it’s during the middle where i get huge MD vibes, more the current version than the one with caramel popcorn and strawberry sorbet. it dries down more elegantly too.
