Versace will launch Eros, a new fragrance for men, in November. According to Donatella Verace, it is a fragrance for "a hero: someone who defends his ideas and opinions".
The fresh woody oriental was developed by perfumer Aurelien Guichard; notes include mint, lemon, green apple, tonka bean, ambroxan and geranium.
Versace Eros will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching grooming products. Eros will not appear in the US until next March, when it will be exclusive to Macy's.

Update: Eros will also be in 30 ml, and additional notes include vanilla, cedar and vetiver. (via moodiereport)
I think the last Versace scents I really liked were Dreamer (fantastic on a woman) and that trio of scents (I think there was a 4th added later for men) in the funny flask bottles that wouldn’t stand up. The black tea one in the purple bottle was pretty good.
Dreamer is a brilliant scent. I liked Versense too, but wouldn’t call it brilliant.
I LOVE the Dreamer! It’s one of my quintessential scents, does anyone know who designed it?
I’m very excited for this one actually!
I don’t know the perfumer, if that’s what you mean by designed it (presumably there was a creative director as well).
the last ‘decent’ perfume that versace came out with was l’homme (1984), the original bottle with the writing in small letters, not capital (and yellow juice). the house it’s just not good at making perfumes, imo.
No Dreamer for you, eh?
this is a photoshop fail! That guy must have a 3 foot torso hidden behind that bottle.
HAHAHAHAHAHA you’re so right. I’m so making fun of this when it gets released with everyone I know
Its the most annoying thing when they release the fragrances everywhere and it hits the U.S the following year. Ugh. Now I’m going to want it and I’m gonna be PISSED i waited so long and it sucks!
Mint and Ambroxan…BLURGH! This sounds as “unapologetically male” as CK Encounter. I imagine it’ll appeal to the same sort of person too: Jersey Shore-style fist bumpers who think they’re too sophisticated for the Ed Hardy frags.
What a demographic! Love your description.
Hilarious, but sad (and true, lol). The notes don’t grab me whatsoever. Shame, because I rather dig the name and advertising – it strikes me as a callback to those vaguely Greek-themed ’80s powerhouse scents like Kouros, Antaeus, and Quorum. (This sounds like it won’t be half as strong, or memorable, as those beasts.)
Haven’t smelled Dreamer in Ages but Hated back in the day… Was not a good Fragrance… Loved Loved LOVED Versace Signature for Women and Versense and Vanitas is also Exceptionally well done… the Last Men’s Fragrance was also very unique, very fresh and aquatic but also musky and warm…. One of my MUST HAVES actually… 🙂 this sounds Yummy!
Crystal Noir isn’t all that shabby either!
