John Galliano Parlez-moi d’Amour Encore ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 9 August 2012 21 Comments

John Galliano Parlez-moi d’Amour Encore

John Galliano will launch Parlez-Moi d’Amour Encore, a new fragrance for women, this fall. Parlez-Moi d’Amour Encore is a flanker to 2010's Parlez-Moi d’Amour.

The floral chypre perfume was developed by perfumer Aliénor Massenet; the notes include mandarin, blueberries, rose, gardenia, iris, patchouli and sandalwood.

John Galliano Parlez-moi d’Amour Encore will be available in 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Toilette.

I’ll try anything with a gardenia note.

I can’t even remember if they distributed the last one in the US, but I think not. And surprised they’re releasing this…the first one could not have been a big seller; I know many stores pulled it after his brouhaha.

That was unfortunate. He’s such a talented designer. Haven’t tried his fragrance though.

      It was unfortunate.

Did not hear anything great about the original Parlez-moi, admittedly.

This one sounds very cozy. I’m loving the bottle too.

As I said above, surprised they’re releasing this…can’t imagine it will be a huge seller.

People have very short memories, unfortunately.

Kinda surprised to see his brand getting coverage here. This guy is outrageously vile imo.

We announce pretty much everything that we know about, assuming it has more than local distribution.

Should have been more clear — in the prestige market. We don’t do so well covering mass market.

Sorry Robin I didn’t mean to imply you had done anything questionable. I’m just surprised this guy even has a brand still.

No worries, just wanted to be clear! Even if he did worse, we’d probably still announce his fragrance. But I’m really surprised too, and given what happened, the name seems in poor taste.

Isn’t his brand under the control of Dior or another umbrella corporation? I don’t think that he is in control of it now.

I bet they are counting on the publics short memory and attention span. I’m willing to bet there are a lot of people who have forgotten the whole ugly incident. There are a lot of celebs and athletes who have done things and after a brief time have been welcomed back with open arms as if nothing ever happened.

That is true, but seems in that case like why not wait a few years and start all over again w/ a new fragrance line. A flanker to a scent he brought out just before crashing seems a bad idea on the part of Selective Beauty (I would not assume JG had anything to do with the decision, although of course he might have).

I tried the first Parlez-Moi d’Amour when it came out, but thought that it was very sweet. It reminded me of berry Kool-Aid.

Yes. I think this one was geared pretty young.

I’m guessing the demographic that actually buys this stuff barely know who he is anyway.
