Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles 2012, part 13

Posted by Robin on 28 July 2012 14 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.

Prada Candy collector edition 2012, with bracelet

From Prada, Prada Candy in a new collector edition with a pink "give me candy" bracelet. In 80 ml. (via prime-beaute)

Clarins Eau Dynamisante artist editions

From Clarins, Eau Dynamisante in 3 of the 25 special edition bottles decorated by artists and designers, to be auctioned off in September with profits going to the Clarins “Most Dynamic Woman of the Year Award”. If you missed it, they also did a more widely available limited edition in red sequins. (via prime-beaute)

If I get birthday cash, it’s going toward that Youth-Dew compact. And maybe the Tuberose Gardenia compact, if I’m really lucky.

I really wish they did mix & match…I want the Tuberose Gardenia in the Antique Sun compact.

And I’d rather have TG in the Celestial Charms…

Mix and match would be a nice option. But I love orange and I love Youth Dew, so no complaints from me about this assortment. (And until I read a comment below, I was under the happy impression that the TG compact was $95 rather than $195 … yeesh.)

I don´t want to sound cheap… but $195 for a dome of non precious metal painted gold with crystals?

I LOVE the tuberose gardenia frag, and I will probably but a bottle for my mom again if I go to the US this fall, but IMHO this is armed robbery.

At least when they used to do the enameled compact series, those looked gorgeous and art-y (in a good way).

I agree Robin, the TG on the antique sun compact would be wonderful.

I wouldn’t pay that either. Luckily I don’t like that one anyway! $89 is already pretty expensive for a solid compact.

Often the really spendy ones are by Jay Strongwater, but if these are, it doesn’t say. Looks like you’re paying more for the crystals, maybe.

Oh gosh, I didn’t see the 1 in front of the 95 in the price for that compact. Yeah, no way. I think a 1 oz bottle of the Tuberose Gardenia EDP goes for $185, and I’d much rather have that … or something else entirely.

The one for the sensous nude looks like it should be for Lagerfeld’s SunMoonStars.

The NM flyer which I had unfortunately thrown out for recycling mentioned some of the compacts being Jay Strongwater pieces but, alas, I don’t remember which ones.

Before my ‘fume obsession, I was into Owls. Estee Lauder had a Jay Strongwater Owl with solid Beautiful. It was 100% an impulse purchase and it is still one of my favorite owls. I also bought my sister an Estee Lauder Year of the Tiger with a Beautiful solid — really pretty and unusual (and not as spendy as the Jay Strongwater ones).

Thanks — I thought it was a good possibility.

And I remember the tiger one!

Some of these are cute, but at these prices, I’d much rather have a By Kilian or Amouage travel set, a Xerjoff exploration set, or other wonderful but expensive perfume in its regular bottle.
