Carolina Herrera 212 Glam ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 23 April 2012 14 Comments

Carolina Herrera will launch 212 Glam and 212 Glam Men, new limited edition flankers to 1997's 212 fragrances.

212 Glam ~ "212 GLAM captures bright colors and delirious energy for the ultimate glam slam. Enter technology with an aesthetic, neon twist—it’s time to rediscover 212 with a new season and a new adventure. More than a perfume, 212 GLAM is an exclusive piece of art you’ll want in your collection." Featuring notes of lollipop, caramelized rose petals and fluorescent wood. In 60 ml Eau de Toilette.

212 Glam Men ~ "212 GLAM Men captures bright colors and delirious energy for the ultimate glam slam. Enter technology with an aesthetic, neon twist—it’s time to rediscover 212 with a new season and a new adventure. More than a fragrance, 212 GLAM Men is an exclusive piece of art you’ll want in your collection. The metallic ice cube top shimmers over the transparent glass bottom, a beautiful contrast like that of a NYC summer night and the heated haze hanging in the cool city lights." With notes of chocolate, tonka bean, cocoa, tobacco leaf, musk and electric effervescent wood. In 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Herrera is releasing CH Sport, too. This 212 Glam one is already available here, I saw it in my favourite online perfume shop.

Could be! Have only tried a few of these, & haven’t been overly impressed so far but they must be doing something right — they seem to be popular.

    Lol, lol..LOLipops! Lolipop note? Lol

Glam slam? Is that like the Denny’s breakfast line? Only, glammier? Slammier? I’d like to slam this glam all the way up 212th St.

I laughed when I read that, too. But glamour is kind of kitschy, isn’t it? It’s supposed to be just over-the-top that it’s dangerously dancing with “trashy”.

I don’t care for gourmands, but I do have a soft spot in my heart for borderline trashy, glam/kitsch. Although, more in the spirit of 30’s dance films and carnival lights. I don’t think that’s what 212 Glam is going for, though…

My tummy was already a bit iffy today, and then I read these perfume notes…ugh. No. Just – no.

Lollipop and caramelized rose petals? Why am I so tempted to try this stuff? LOL! When my parents ask me what I want for my graduation, I know what to tell them. I’m a sucker for anything with a candy or gourmand note in it.

I tried the men’s version, and it smells the same as the previous editions (Colors, Pop, On Ice, etc.). I for one do not detect any gourmand note in this, there’s no tobacco leaf, no tonka bean, and definitely no chocolate. The company should be sued for deceptive advertising, it’s the first time I see a list of notes that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual fragrance.
