Hermes Voyage d’Hermes Parfum ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 15 February 2012 27 Comments

Hermès will launch a new Eau de Parfum version of their 2010 unisex fragrance, Voyage d’Hermès, in March.

The notes for the more intense version of the original Eau de Toilette include rose, musk and amber.

Hermès Voyage d’Hermès Eau de Parfum will be available in 35 (£60) and 100 (£87) ml.

Update: as Ericgmd noted in the comments, the new version is a Parfum, not an Eau de Parfum.

Is it by Jean Claude Ellena?

Presumably, but I have not seen anything official.

This is good news! I really like this but it lasts on me oh about… 15 minutes

I nearly always end up liking the lighter versions better, but do look forward to trying it.

Same with me. I love the scent and I like the additional notes that have been put into the EDP.

Well this is good news, I swear I could barely smell the original.

How much perfume lines has Hermes out in the street?
Isn´t it spreading itself too thin? (for a luxury brand I mean)

The jardins are through, perhaps a new series is in order to have some coherence?

      I don’t think so…they haven’t done a new pillar fragrance since 2010. If anything, I wish they’d do more.

I think I am ok with new launches, but the need to discontinue the flankers or it gets really confusing (to me at least) I think in my mind Hermes means quality, and having so many things out at once is not synonymous with quality.. Or perhaps I am just a little cranky as the temperature here in Buenos Aires, mid-summer is 38 Celsius and I can’t wear any fragrance, as it evaporates instantly heheheheheheee

Sorry you are cranky! But strictly speaking, it is not a flanker, just a new concentration. Frequently we don’t even bother to announce new concentrations, but I figured people would be interested in this one.

Sounds interesting. I own and love the EDT (great longevity on clothes, if not on skin!) and am curious what amped up floral and amber notes will do to it…

I can’t wait to smell this one, I really love the original but it never got dark enough for me to buy a bottle. I think the amber/musk will help that out, and I’m a fan of a good rose!

Voyage was one of those allllmooossst fragrances – perhaps this will be the ticket. Funny, of the whole Hermes line I only have a small Kelley Caleche, a vintage Bel Ami, and a decant of Osmanthe Yunnan. I need to hang out at Hermes a bit – I tend to go there with a group and the staff gets all freaked out. Maybe one-on-one is better for their temperament.

Interesting idea about groups freaking out the SAs! Actually, when we were tossing around the idea of a Portland sniffa, it occurred to me that we’d probably want to give a heads up to the folks at the Perfume House, if we were going to go there. Too many people in tight spaces with expensive goods in all directions–might make the nicest SAs a bit twitchy!

The Hermessences definitely are worth meeting. And the Jardins. The colognes are wonderful as well.

Robin, it is actually a Parfum (Pure Perfume) concentration. Not an Eau de Parfum.
Similar scenario to Terre d’Hermes Parfum.

Oh, you could be right — have now seen “official” publications that list it both ways. Will keep checking, thanks!

Robin: So if I’m right, will you send me a sample of Nombre Noir by Shiseido?
Or perhaps it’s easier for me to ask for your first-born…

Well, I haven’t got any Nombre Noir, and you can’t squeeze water out of a rock, LOL…

But beyond that, I’m afraid this information is not that valuable to me 🙂

*shrug* maybe it was featured in a “for Christmas” thing. I didn’t realize this scent didn’t already have flankers/special editions/its own reindeer.

Interesting. I do like the original, and lasting power is fine if I apply quite a bit. It’s not a two-spritz fragrance.

Will be interested to see how this differs with those added notes — rose sounds intriguing — but Terre is still my Hermès go to over Voyage.

I had the chance to try it, it reminds me a lot of Prada L’Eau Ambree but a bit less feminine

I find myself wearing my sample already 3 days in a row with joy. very easy to wear, perfect work companion, to me it lives somewhere between the Prada (which I never wear) and Le Labo Guaiac (which I wear once in a while). can’t wait to read a review on this one!
