Guerlain will launch Lys Soleia, the latest addition to their Aqua Allegoria range, this spring. The new fragrance for women is meant to evoke the caress of the sun on the skin.
Lys Soleia is a solar floral; the notes include bergamot, lemon, palm leaves, ylang-ylang, lily, tropical fruit, tuberose, vanilla and white musk.
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Lys Soleia will be available in 75 and 125 ml Eau de Toilette.

Update: see a review of Guerlain Lys Soleia.
The summer sun does not have any scent.
If this fragrance is meant to evoke the feeling of summer sun on the skin, does indulging into too much, lead to a sun burn?
These scents usually have a light, ambery accord that’s meant to smell like warm skin.
palm leaves? that’s a new one for me, does anyone have any ideas in what scents this note has been used? This has at least piqued my interest… but doubt that this one will supplant lys med, one of my summer favourites
I am guessing it’s just green notes.
I grew up in Florida. Palm leaves do not have a scent that i can recall, other than vaguely “green.” More advertising hype, I guess. I often like the AA’s, but the tuberose here is probably a deal breaker for me.
I like some of them very much, but admit this one is not calling my name. But of course will give it a shot!
I think this sounds really pretty. I love Tiare Mimosa which I got at a discounter. Not sure if I would pay full price for soft EDT like these. 🙂
I have never paid full price for one, but I do own several of them.
Robin, I remember you liking Mandarine Basilica and Herba Fresca. Have the others you liked all been discontinued?
This one sounds pretty dull to me…but I’ll sniff, of course!
I also like Anisia Bella (disc, I think) and Laurier Reglisse (not sure?)
Anisia Bella is definitely discontinued. Not sure about Laurier Reglisse, but it was my other favorite, so I’m assuming it’s also been axed. (It’s no longer on Guerlain’s international English-language website, FWIW.)
The last few batches of AAs have been so disappointing (anybody want a bottle of Jasminora?) but I was going to try to be open-minded about this one.
Then “tropical fruit” happened.
I started losing hope at the ‘Solar Floral’!
That term always makes me think of solar panels. Perhaps they smell lovely. I wouldn’t know.
And, um, isn’t durian a “tropical fruit”?
I was hoping it would smell like old-fashioned Coppertone – that’s what my garden lilies always remind me of…well, that’s money saved.
I have been checking AAs out for years. Mandarin Basil was the one I got closest to buying, but still something stopped me…:) But last summer I finally got Flora Nymphea. I know it’s not one of your favorites, but i really like it for spring and summer (then again, where I live summers are rarely hot). I do think they’ve captured this “honeyed flowers and skin” scent very well. And I kind of associate Flora Nymphea with sun now. So will definitely give this one a try, the notes don’t sound amazing but the description does!
I just purchased this in Disney World and I LOVE the scent! Its light and warm at the same time. Its not as overwhelming as some of the notes would have you believe! The only thing that I can say for sure is that the scent life leaves much to be desired! It lasts 1-2 hours at best.
