Bond no. 9 Central Park West ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 3 February 2012 14 Comments

Bond no. 9 Central Park West

Bond no. 9 will launch Central Park West, the latest in their series of fragrances inspired by New York City neighborhoods, in March.

Elegant thoroughfares with palatial buildings are in evidence elsewhere in Manhattan, but they’re the specialty at Central Park West, which urban planners and architectural critics regard as one of the grandest, most sumptuous addresses in America. Nowhere else can you find such an amazing line-up of neat and elegant grand-manner apartment houses—with the singular purpose of overlooking and honoring the magnificent greenery that, after all, is their front yard.

...Central Park West, the fragrance, has been designed to have the grandeur and largesse of the street itself. It starts off with a springtime wakeup call: Narcissus mingled with tangy ylang ylang and a pinch of piquant pepper. Then comes a beckoning white-petal mélange— orris, jasmine, and linden—surrounding their centerpiece, majestic gardenia. Sustaining and enriching this bouquet is an enduring base of white oak and vetiver, combined with the animal whiff of musk.

Bond no. 9 Central Park West will be available in 50 ml ($180) and 100 ($250) ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body products.

(via press release)

Update: Central Park West was developed by perfumer Laurent Le Guernec.

Mmmm…speaking of “dazzlers”… this one seems to have a LOT of potential and I am really excited by it! I hope it lives up!

I’m amazed that they are still able to come up with new and beautiful twists on the same basic bottle design. I really like that one.

I’m intrigued by all the white florals and greenery going on, though ouch at the usual BNo.9 price. Has it gone up or is it just me?

Hi Julia! If this is the same Julia of the SL Ambre Sultan, feel free to message me! Sorry, Robin, and hope that isn’t breaking an NST rule. 😉

        Not at all.

It is more $ than the last neighborhood scents they did, way back in 2010. But have not checked their website to see if they’ve done a general price rise.

I like the colors. But admit I’m getting tired of vinyl flowers stuck on bottles.

This one sounds like it has potential, especially since it features gardenia and I’m in a lush floral phase. I will simply hope it’s as good as Chinatown

I agree, it sounds promising. There aren’t many of Bond No.9 fragrances that I like and Chinatown is by far my favourite. I tried a bit of Hamptons the other day and ended up smelling “laundry fresh”. Not that it’s a bad thing.

I am a Bond Girl (perfume that is) and yes they did have a price increase a few months ago. I can’t wait to smell this one

The notes sound right up my alley. I haven’t been interested in anything they’ve done for a while, so this is exciting. Kind of glad they’re going back to the neighborhood scents – I kind of wonder if they were just done with those.

Wow, really like the sound of this. I just hope there really is ylang ylang in it. I find so many frags promise it but don’t deliver. Love the bottle, vinyl flower and all, it’s just plain fun! And just when I hoped I was entering stage 4? jaded . . . . they have to go and do this . . . I’m pathetic . . . .
