Michael Kors has launched Island Very Bali, the latest in his island series of fragrances for women (Island, Island Fiji, Island Hawaii, Island Capri, Island Bermuda, Island Palm Beach):
Escape to Bali. Getaway to the ultimate paradise filled with sexy sunsets that melt into ocean waves and lush green palms trees that sway in the cool breeze. Lose yourself in soft, sexy musk and a brilliant, textural fusion of earthy pamplewood and dry woods, inspired by the golden rays of the sun and the wam [sic] breeze off a sparkling ocean. Island-hopping never smelled this good.
Additional notes include rose and jasmine.
Michael Kors Island Very Bali can be found now at Macy's or Neiman Marcus, in 50 ml Eau de Parfum for $65.

I saw this at Dillard’s this weekend. I have enjoyed the other Michael Kors Island fragrances, so I was interested in this one. I only sprayed on card, not on skin, but it seemed more “purple-fruity” than the other Islands have, far more like generic department store standard issue shlock. Boo.
I would still give it another try though – the notes make it sound much better than it seemed in person, enough to convince me to at least try it on skin.
Good to know, thanks!
What the heck is pamplewood. Did they mean pamplemousse (grapefruit)?
No, it’s definitely a wood note. It turns up in a couple other fragrances. Probably some captive molecule from one of the big fragrance & flavor companies.
It looks like Michael Kors likes the word “very” to describe his fragrances. “Very Hollywood” and now “Very Bali”.
Also, I do wish that the other Islands weren’t limited edition, as this version doesn’t seem as good as the others.
Some of them seem to reappear from time to time? Or at least, seems like a few times, I’ve seen them again long after they initially sold out.
Yes, he could have left the “Very” out. I am still mystified by Palm Beach being an island. I have Bermuda which is not bad for a frangipani fragrance. (I don’t care for frangipani/plumeria.) But—I love the original Island and it is one of very few fragrances I would buy again.
Wherever MK hangs out, that’s an island 🙂
Oh I still love the original Island, it has lovely associations for me as it was my wedding fragrance. I got married on a beach in Australia, so I thought it was quite suitable all round.
Perfect!
