Calvin Klein Sheer Beauty ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 25 October 2011 24 Comments

Calvin Klein Sheer Beauty

Calvin Klein will launch Sheer Beauty, a new fresh fruity floral fragrance for women, in January. Sheer Beauty is a flanker to last year's Calvin Klein Beauty.

Calvin Klein Sheer BEAUTY is sparkling and carefree with a pure, sexy confidence. The fragrance evokes the sensuality and delicacy of bare skin with its luminous floralcy and skin-like warmth.

The notes include peach bellini accord, red berries, bergamot, pink lily accord, jasmine, peony, musks, sandalwood and vanilla blossom.

Calvin Klein Sheer Beauty will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Peach bellini accord? Heavens! I’d rather have this as a drink than as a perfume. Call me not tempted.

Could be a fun sparkly peach, who knows? But admit it sounds awfully fruity for me.

I never understand the timing. Sounds like a summer scent to me too.

Hell yeah to anything sheer and light released in Aussie summer!!! Down here in the Southern Hemisphere, we consistently get heavy and intense fragrances in summer, and light breezy fragrances in winter. This wouldn’t be so bad, if the average Aussie knew squat about fragrance. We end up with women, thinking they’re being “trendy”, just asking for the latest release and coating themselves in it – heavy wood notes and spicy orientals do not mix with 40 degree heat (that’s Celsius – I’m not sure about the Farenheit translation, but it’s bloody hot), bright sun, and still air. I will be throwing this at those women, for the sake of all of us with noses.
(That said, the men have no clue either, but they don’t so much go for “the latest release” – they just by their Joop! Homme, bath in it, then go work in the sun for eight hours – blegh!).

Thats so funny-true but funny! We, down in the south of Oz, dont reach the heady heights of 30s to 40s very often in summer (we did have a couple of days last week that reached 30-so nice) but even so, you cant wear heavy orientals here for the next 5 months and there are some that do-too awful!

Hahaha yes, 40C might be the slightest of slight exaggerations for even the northern parts – there are definitely days that hit it and beyond where I live (especially during December), but it’s not the “average”. 30+ is definitely the case though – either way, NOT the weather for woody orientals!!! 😀 Good to hear I’m not off base with this one.

I agree with this. It makes sense. I also like sheree.s’s comment about how hot it is in Australia. Oh and 30 C = 86 F and 40 C = 104 F. So that’s pretty hot weather.

Maybe the launch is timed to take advantage of the Valentine’s Day “gotta buy her a perfume’ rush?

so, i guess they did away with the metal on the flacon?

it’s time to turn this brand into a moneymaker! (did Beauty do well?)

I can’t speak for the world as a whole, but as far as I can tell it did pretty darn well (for us, anyway – we can barely keep it on the shelf more than 10 minutes before it’s sold).
The original bottle is a weapon – literally. I picked up for the first time and thought, sheesh, if there’s an intruder in my bathroom this is what I’m going to clonk them on the head with. That pretty much begins and ends my relationship with Beauty.

I long for the days when perfumes weren’t described as smelling like things such as “peach bellini accord”.
