Up for grabs: Acqua di Parma Gelsomino Nobile

Posted by Robin on 29 August 2011 149 Comments — Comments are closed

Acqua di Parma Gelsomino Nobile

What is it: one 50 ml bottle of Acqua di Parma Gelsomino Nobile. I decanted a couple samples (I keep the samples, you get the bottle).

How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment telling me that you live in the US. Also, please tell us either a) your favorite jasmine fragrance or b) your favorite Acqua di Parma product or c) your favorite cut flower.

Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! Replies to comments will be deleted!

The contest will be open until noon or so on Wednesday, and I'll announce the winner on Friday.

The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. Sadly, it sometimes usually takes me a month to mail a package. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.

I live in the United States

    Favorite Jasmine scent is Carthusia’s

My favorite cut flower – this is worse than Sophie’s Choice! It’s impossible to make a choice between roses, peonies, delphinium, dahlias, stock, lilac, tuberose, etc. How could you ask such a thing?

    :)

    I live in the U.S.
A.G.’s Songes is my favorite jasmine-y perfume, especially if I boost the jasmine with a very little BK Love & Tears.

My favorite cut flowers are iris.

I live in the United States. I’m not sure what my favorite jasmine is – maybe Dior’s Escale de Pondichery, which isn’t a pure jasmine? I have been it wearing it a lot this summer and enjoying it. I also got a sample of Matier Parfumeur et Gantier’s Jasmin that I rather like.

I live in the US, and my favorite AdP scents are Iris Nobile and Profumo, depending on the occasion. I’m still looking for my favorite jasmine perfume–could Gelsomino Nobile be the one? Love daffodils/narcissus for cut flowers.

Hello! I live in New York. My favorite Jasmine perfume would have to be Bvlgari Jasmin Noir. It’s dark and luxurious without losing femininity or feeling too costumey. The use of jasmine sambac alongside other florals, mixed with woody, balsamic and resinous make it grounded and powerful. I put it on when I want to feel extra sexy!

Favorite jasmine? Many will disagree, but I’m going with PdN’s Odalisque. I’m not a great fan of cut flowers, but I do have a bouquet of lovely daisies on my kitchen table now that simply refuse to wilt.

    2. My favorite cut flower is Apricot Beauty tulips. Even though most tulips are scentless, some orange varieties are scented. Apricot Beauty has the most delicate, fragile, honey-like sweetness that is just spellbinding. And, as you can only get them in the spring (in my garden, at least) it is a rare treat to be able to anticipate.

    Yay

I live in the USA–and I am a jasmine girl!! Many years ago there was an Occitaine perfume line, from Julie’s Garden and the jasmine was divine–alas, it is no more, so now I use A La Nuit, Killian’s Love and Tears, Sarrasins, and TDC’s Jasmine du Nuit. Would love to try this, so please pick me!

My mom was a florist so all cut flowers are my faves!!

Hi Robin. I live in the US and while I don’t have lots of experience with jasmine yet, one I’ve tried and really like is EL’s Jasmine White Moss. When I was in my early teens, it was Love’s Tender Jasmine all the way. :)

My favorite cut flower would be either the wonderfully fragrant but fleeting hyacinth from our front bed that means spring’s really coming or some weeks later, the lilacs along the fence that mean it’s here to stay. :)

My favorite jasmine perfume is L’occitane’s Jasmine perfume which they are no longer selling in the US. So now I’m looking for a new jasmine perfume to replace the old. Thankfully I still have 3\4th of a bottle left so I’m got some time to find something.

My favorite jasmine perfume is , hands down, Serge Lutens Sarrasins! Besides; it’s PURPLE …so there’s really no way to go wrong here.
My favorite cut flowers are lilies….specifically Mona Lisa or Stargazers. Although a friend has recently turned me on to a fantastic lily farm/grower in OR , so as soon as I figure out where to plant them–I plan to have many varieties to cut!!

Favorite jasmine? I love several, including SLs Sarrasins and A la Nuit, but my favorite is Montale’s Intense Tiare. It reminds me of my one trip to Hawaii, and is so lush. Definitely a dab, not spray fragrance for me.

I live in the US, and you may certainly contact me via my registered email. Thanks for hosting the draw. Be well.

My favorite cut flower is, gosh, perhaps the iris . . . or daisies . . . . It is easier by far to say what I don’t like–stargazer lilies. One in a bouquet will make me flee a room. I’ve been known to give bouquets to other offices just to get rid of that flower. (With the condition that the beneficiary NOT EVER come into my office as long as the lily is in hers.) I’m just HUGELY allergic. Hmmm. It just occurred to me that surely my husband knows that?

Favorite AdiP: Profumo. Favorite cut flower: Poppies or Gerbera daisies for looks, citrus blossoms or gardenia for smell.

I don’t really have one favorite flower, but my favorite fower arrangement ever was one I put together using forsythia, honeysuckle and pussy willows from the back yard. It was very…exuberant.

I live in Oakland, CA, USA

My current favorite jasmine scent is Jasmine Dawn and Dusk by Laurie of Velvet & Sweet Pea, which I layer over the other Bay Area Laurie’s Sonoma Scent Studio Jour Ensoleille, but I have a honking box of sample jasmines just arrived today from Perfumed Court. And I found Jasminora too wussy.

I grow fragrant roses, but rarely cut them (do make syrup out of one variety), but my favorite flower is Muguet, which alas, I cannot grow here. So I make do with Tuberoses, until my husband starts sneezing!

Oh my, I forgot my Acqua di Parma favorite:
Blu Mediterraneo Mirto di Panarea is the best bath gel and deodorant of all time! Cleaner than clean and bluer than blue.

So, I have to admit that I am a total sucker for Joy. I know that it isn’t anything close to a jasmine soliflore, but the jasmine comes through so richly I can’t resist it! On the opposite end of things, I also have to admit I enjoy Thierry Mugler Alien. I’m not sure why I like it so much, since it strikes me a synthetic, but it gets me every time.

I’m not sure if this scent could be classified as “jasmine”, although I know jasmine is there, holding hands with iris,…but my favorite jasmine is Parfum de NIcolai’s Odalisque. I’m not partial to cut flowers; I prefer them in the garden. I love freesia growing outside a kitchen window. But a bouquet of tulips is always so cheery!
