Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles 2011, part 8

Posted by Robin on 22 June 2011 12 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.

Clinique Happiness On The Spot solid perfumes

From Clinique, the Happiness On The Spot set, with solid twist ups in three fragrances: Happy, Happy Heart and Happy in Bloom. $30 at Sephora.

From Calvin Klein, CK One in the On The Go edition: 20 ml Eau de Toilette in a credit-card shaped bottle. Coming in July. (via cosmoty.de)

Kate Walsh Boyfriend perfume solid

And a solid from Kate Walsh, in her new-ish Boyfriend fragrance (this one may or may not be limited edition, I'm not sure). $45 at HSN.

Diptyque roll ons

From Diptyque, the popular Philosykos and L'Ombre dans L'Eau fragrances in perfume oil roll-ons. 7.5 ml each. (via joyce.fr)

Yves Saint Laurent crystallized Opium

From Yves Saint Laurent, a limited edition version of Opium: "The iconic glass spray bottle has had a dazzling revamp with an intricate Swarovski crystal hand-set design. And with only 30 bottles produced, it will fast become a collector’s item." At Selfridges in the UK, if it's not already sold out.

The Clinique set is novel, but I’ve never cared for solid perfumes.

I like them, but they do tend to wear quite differently from liquids.

Happy used to stay with me and I got compliments all the time – not so much now. My cells must have overturned. It’s completely different on me than it was 8 years ago.

I gasped at the Opium bottle. Agh!

I am hoping that Opium looks better in person, although I’m not likely to ever see it.

The Opium bottle looks like a holiday candle from Pottery Barn.

As I said above, I do hope it looks better in person. It’s not all that attractive in the picture.

I don’t know, I think that bottle is kind of calling out to the magpie in me. :P lol

The Diptyque’s look really cute, but I can only smell solid perfume on me if I press the skin to my nose; so I’m guessing perfume oil wouldn’t be much better…

I have never tried Diptyque, but I’ve found that perfume oils are stronger/more noticeable on me than solids.

I think that is true for me as well, although they have less sillage than alcohol-based.

They are pretty spendy for what they are, too – close to $50. They have a number of scents in the roll-on at the actual Diptyque store but maybe these are LE.

I really like the CK bottle.
