Hugo Boss Just Different ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 16 June 2011 16 Comments

Jared Leto for Hugo Boss Just Different

Hugo Boss will launch Just Different, a new fragrance for men fronted by Jared Leto:

For those edgy souls who inhabit the urban jungle, Hugo Man presents Just Different: a scent full of irreverence and creative energy.

The vibrant and cooling fragrance exhilarates the senses with a fusion of the unexpected and the bracing, from Icy Mint to aromatic Basilic. The scent is the perfect partner for the original Hugo Man, a day-to-night transition that is as smooth as a well blended cocktail. Where its predecessor is bright, Just Different is warm and embracing, which is perfect for the urban night.

The notes include mint, basil, freesia and cashmeran.

Hugo Boss Just Different will be available in 40, 100 and 150 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching grooming products, and is available now for pre-order at Escentual in the UK. (via escentual)

This ad is really bad – Leto looks like the jerk at the party trying to convince the already tipsy girl to “have one more”.

Admit I am not impressed with the print ad, & didn’t love the commercial either. I think they did a better job with their Jonathan Rhys Meyers campaign.

The ad, an “Entourage” group of guys in expensive but tacky suits, reminded me of those two “club” guys from the SNL skit with losers haplessly trying to pick up chicks while dancing robatically to an eighties song.

LOL RuthW now that you mention it…

Aww but I still like how Jared looks with short hair and sans crazy eye makeup.

“the perfect partner for the original Hugo Man” and fronted by Hephaistion. I wonder what demographic this is being aimed at.

Maybe I am behind the times, but when last (if ever) was Hugo Boss genuinely aimed at edgy souls who inhabit the urban jungle? Come on!

The name of the fragrance seems so incongruous – how are people who inhabit the urban jungle just different? Don’t most people go to work in the city centre?

In fact, I heard on the news a few years back that the human race had hit a new milestone–more of us lived in cities than in the countryside. We are now an urban species–so maybe if they really want to be different it should smell like a tractor pull?! :)

Not intended as a slight on tractor pulls, mind you! I like me a good tractor pull! I just recognize that I am in the minority. . .

The more different they try to be on the name, the less they are in the juice…

I’m confused. First it says it’s cooling, then later it says it’s warm. Could they not make up their mind?
