Lancôme will launch Trésor Midnight Rose, a new fragrance for women, in September. Trésor Midnight Rose is a flanker to the 1990 version of Trésor (there is also a 1952 version), and will be fronted by actress Emma Watson (shown). The scent reportedly hopes to capture a night in the most romantic city in the world, Paris.
Trésor Midnight Rose is a more gourmand version of the original; the notes include raspberry, pink pepper, jasmine, peony, rose, vanilla, cedar and musk.
I will update with sizes and concentration when I can find them. (via conseillere-de-beaute.fr)
Update: Trésor Midnight Rose was developed by perfumer Anne Flipo; additional notes include black currant bud. (via wwd)
It is available in 30, 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum.
Another update: see a review of Trésor Midnight Rose.
Hm… sounds like a potential “fleurmand”…(my newly-coined term for flowery-dessert scents). 😉
Yes, it does. And like the word!
ooh I like the term “fleurmaund”!
I am too old school, I wasn’t crazy about Tresor in love, but I will sniff this when it comes out.
I have already forgotten Tresor in Love, ack!
I love the original Tresor, but have not liked any of the flankers. This sounds promising, but I’m worried about the lack of peach. Without a prominent peach, no Tresor.
I would not have assumed no peach, but who knows.
As a bit of a Harry Potter nerd, I’m kind of excited to see Emma Watson in print more. It’s nice of Lancome to pick someone who isn’t perhaps the “prototypical” model/actress as spokesperson.
Hmm… See, I wasn’t much on Tresor (I think my mother or teacher might have had a bottle when I was little, because it’s always evoked “grown ups” to me, seems “old” if you know what I mean), and Tresor In Love was OK but another girl I worked with fell in LOVE with it so I felt obligated not to wear it (letting it be her “signature”).
Mind is open for this one though – I’m wondering how strong the peony will be because that seems to be one note that’s been catching me lately. 🙂
I guess she didn’t score a deal with Burberry for their fragrances.
I was surprised Burberry didn’t get her 1st also. And I am sort of sad that she’s Kate Winslet’s replacement for Tresor, as I really thought Kate was a good fit for the brand. And I am very tired of all these models/actresses/celebs who claim they don’t normally wear or even like perfume, yet they either launch their own perfume or sign up to be “the face” of one. Of course Emily loved this perfume though so it’s not a compromise at all for her – snicker. When did perfume or smelling “like perfume” fall “out of fashion” for all these celebs? I just don’t get it! I guess I am just getting jaded in my old age.
I’ve noticed the same thing though – so many celebrities saying “oh, yeah, no, I never wear fragrances, I think they’re gross, except this one,”. Complete BS, and very tired. I’d be much more inclined to buy the fragrance if they just didn’t say anything really.
The Burberry thing was my immediate thought as well, though maybe her contract is up or something? I don’t think she’d be a really good fit for the classic Burberry fragrances, imho, I see her as more “new, young, flanker” type.
Hermione sells out. . .
as I already commented on the earlier Watson/Tresor post. Duh, repeating myself now.
Very tiny voice…….. I like Tresor in love very much.
Why the tiny voice? I’m sure many people like it and many don’t, right?
Ok, here I go since I have just smelled this, I guess I have to say that I am a sucker for certain fleurmand fragrances, well, that is sometimes, I find them very wearable and yummy, duh, great scents for headache days and. I was madly in love with EL Pleasures Delight but very obvious gourmand notes I tend to stay away from, what I mean is that I guess I just prefer fleurmand fragrances and only some out of those as well. They do tend to be happy scents too lifting one’s mood when you are down. I would have been interested in reading a more detailed review because I tend to agree with most of what you say Robin, except that I know you are not into gourmand scents, well, me either for the most part but this one I like very much again. Yes I know it may not be too original but I have fallen for the explosion of blackcurrant on the top and yet it has the flowers making it not as obvious. I liked Tresor in Love too but thinking about getting a small bottle of this one. In the past few months I have kept going back to Love Chloe but unable to pull the trigger, thing is I like Love Chloe very much just unable to be passionate about it. I tend to find very few fragrances anymore that I love so much. This fall I have fallen for Elie Saab Le Parfum but on different days and different occassions I have different tastest:))). Today, for example I am wearing Diorissimo. Now, will see if I can get a tester of Midnight Rose and it might be one I would get when I am in the mood for some uplifting fleurmand.
I do like some gourmands but have never been a big fan of Tresor…glad you love it though!
I do but still trying to decide what will be my next one and I am thinking as much as I liked this it is not me as much as my mom, this is perfectly her taste so I might get her this fragrance for her bday. I am personally torn, I do keep going back to Chloe Love and though I was not so much in love with Prada Candy it is growing on me:)))
