I know that this is my first year as a perfume-lover, but I’ve gotta say that I’m already feeling very cynical about perfume awards! I want so badly for them to be a resource to direct me towards new and interesting fragrances, but so far they mostly just tell me what’s new. . . đ
Tilda Swinton Like This is worth trying, but yeah, that’s it! And there’s something kind of comical about a “specialist’s” award, as though they want to make clear that the other awards are chosen by people who aren’t familiar with the subject matter or something, LOL…
Ha! Yes, I always like to buy things on the recommendations of non-specialists!
It’s now clear to me that these awards are the exhibits of how ad campaigns affect people in fragrance-purchasing behaviors, not the venue showcasing the beauty of perfume itself. Oh well.
OF COURSE. (But kudos to ELdO’s Like This.)
Yep.
At least Voyage d’Hermes won in the packaging category…
Yes, and I think it has won for packaging in a few other countries as well. It deserves it!
Hear hear. Hermes always does a nice job with packaging, but Voyage’s is total minimalist swank.
