Komodo

Posted by Robin on 19 February 2011 11 Comments

The Old Spice Man, talking about Old Spice Komodo. Not his best, but cute. Old Spice, by the way, says that Old Spice Komodo "smells like exotic winds & spicy freedom".

It is really not his best. I am so fond of the series that I am very forgiving.

Can’t help it, these ads and him, they just make me smile.

Exactly. Even when he fails, it makes me smile.

I absolutely love that dry sense of humor. When I saw Kimodo, all I could think of were those Nat. Geo specials about that creature and the psi’s of bacteria in their mouths!

Luckily I missed those specials :-)

I don’t think these ads work as well at the shorter length, as it is the barrage of witty dialogue and visual effects that makes them wonderful. This is a rare example where I wish the commercial were longer. Still, this is better than 99% of commercials these days.

I liked some of the short “twitter response” videos they did last year, but otherwise agree, this is too short & disjointed.
