From Issey Miyake, the annual summer versions of L'Eau d'Issey: L'Eau d'Issey Eau d'Eté (an aquatic floral with pear, rosewater, peony, carnation, woods and osmanthus) and L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Eau d'Eté (a woody floral with yuzu, mandarin, cardamom, sage, vetiver and amber). Due to launch in April.
From Kenzo, L'Eau Par Kenzo Wild Edition, a fruity floral with bois de roseau (reeds?), green lilac, wild mint, mandarin, Guinea pepper, water lily, amaryllis, peach, blue cedar, musk flower and vanilla. In 50 ml Eau de Toilette. (both above via prime-beaute)
David and Victoria Beckham will introduce Signature Summer For Her (shown) and For Him in March. Her version features water lily, freesia, violet, jasmine, madonna lily, frangipani, vanilla cream, vetiver and musk; his includes tangerine, pomelo, violet leaf, lotus, saffron, orris, musk, patchouli and amber. Both are in 30 ml. (via cosmoty.de)
Whatever one thinks of the Beckhams, congrats on making their summer fragrance a reasonable 30 ml size.
Agree! And they’ve done that with their last few, I think.
Love the coral branch motif on the Kenzo bottles, but not sure I’ll like the perfumes inside, based on the notes. Still, I loved the original Kenzo Parfum d’Ete, so I believe I will have to give these a chance. 🙂
I think you’ve mixed up the Issey Miyake & the Kenzo…
Like that Kenzo bottle!
Yeah, me too.
WOW! I have got to try the Kenzo one. They managed to put atleast half of my favorite notes in one perfume! I’m so excited.
Hope it works for you!
The L’Eau d’Issey Eau d’Eté (an aquatic floral with pear, rosewater, peony, carnation, woods and osmanthus) sounds good, except for the aquatic note — I think that it might clash with my beloved carnation. When I see “aquatic” in a perfume’s description, I immediately think of air freshener and detergent. I hope I’m wrong.
Kenzo has the loveliest bottles.
the Issey Miyakes look nice
I spy the Kenzo Eau Par Kenzo Wild editions in Buenos Aires! 🙂
Micro review
The women’s: mildly calone-y white flowery and a touch (micro touch) powdery fragrance.
The men’s : an “eau de cologne” with the requisite marine and “clean” accords. It has a surprising underscore of ginger (very mild too)
BOTH are VERY VERY “mid-to-late-nineties” and with this I mean that they are not very original, but not a hot mess either. I think this is a “distillation” of what eau de toilettes used to smell in the 90’s but with better technology (there is not ONE jarring note ANYWHERE, everything is perfectly blended!)
In conclusion both are very giftable, you won’t offend anyone’s nose with this. Perfect for office wear, and the best of the LÉau flankers so far. It is also important to say that they don’t remind me of the original AT ALL, so they are the most different of all the flankers.
Thanks so much P! Sounds like I will not need to cry if I miss them 🙂
It must be the peach/mandarin combo, but it almost makes me think of mango. I don’t usually get along with Kenzo (there’s always something just a *little* off that ruins the entire composition), but I actually rather liked this. I nabbed a sample at Sephora today, and will see if it holds up over a couple of wears. Not brilliant, certainly, but kind of fun and very wearable in the right weather/mood.
…and, meh. If it shows up at the discounters, I’d maybe grab a bottle. It’s fun, but short-lived, and the drydown isn’t my favorite.
