Issey Miyake A Scent Soleil de Neroli, Nina Ricci L’Air de Nina Ricci ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 6 February 2011 16 Comments

Issey Miyake A Scent Soleil de Néroli Nina Ricci L'Air de Nina Ricci

Issey Miyake will launch A Scent by Issey Miyake Soleil de Néroli (above left) in March. The new fragrance for women is a flanker to 2009's A Scent by Issey Miyake.

The notes for the floral perfume include neroli, gardenia, jasmine, hyacinth and musk.

Nina Ricci will launch L'Air de Nina Ricci (above right) in April. L'Air is a flanker to their iconic L'Air du Temps (1948). It follows recent variations including L’Eau du Temps (2007) and L’Air du Printemps (2009).

L'Air de Nina Ricci is a light and airy floral, with notes of magnolia, jasmine, honeysuckle and violet.

Update: L'Air de Nina Ricci was developed by perfumers Louise Turner and Michel Girard, and additional notes include freesia, rose notes, palisander wood and patchouli. The scent hopes to "seduce a new generation of women". (via wwd)

It must be the impending spring here, but both of these sound really pretty. It would be nice to have a Miyake perfume I can actually wear since the iconic original never worked on me.

I liked the green version of A Scent, but it was not all that unique — didn’t feel like I needed to own it.

Same here. I like A Scent, but my mini may be all I need.

I haven’t (knowingly) tried a perfume with honeysuckle yet, but I love the flowers. Maybe I can make a list of scents with a honeysuckle note to further my. . .education (read obsession)!

Hi Marjorie Rose! The most true-to-life honeysuckle I have found is Annick Goutal Le Chevrefeuille. I love a good honeysuckle, they were ubiquitous in Virginia and remind me of my childhood. Hopefully the Nina Ricci will be good!

I like the AG too. And Diptyque Olene has lots of honeysuckle.

I’m going to toss another ‘aye’ in favor of AG Le Chevrefeuille. It’s so beautiful!

I’m generally not thrilled with flankers, but the notes for the Issey Miyake scent (Scent) sound great – I’ll probably try it unless I’ve forgotten about it by then…

These both sound worth a sniff. I’d love that Ricci bottle.

Neroli is fast becoming one of my favorite perfume ingredients. It usually manages to avoid the more cloying aspects of orange while imparting a refined citrus aura.

Both sound good to me, but the Nina Ricci is HUGE at 100ml… hope its not too expensive!

I love neroli..and honeysuckle…and jasmine…and I do so hope Spring will eventually get here! Both of these sound nice right now and will go on my “must try” list.

Very late to the party here, but I just tried the Nina Ricci from a magazine strip and if the actual juice is true to this, it’s lovely. I really like it and it’s not even my type of fragrance. I would classify it as floral musk even though palisander and patchouli are listed as the base notes. Smells very natural and lovely. I even think it would appeal to a large age range, but would most probably be preferred by 20 somethings and up. As for price, the 100 ml bottle is $110 Canadian. Well worth trying.
