That is one of their best, I think.

I just realized that I have not smelled anything from their latest launches. Did I smell anything terrific, R?

I have missed quite a few myself! Like This is very interesting and worth trying, though.

That’s some wonderfully elevated, earnest silliness. Long may the orange flag wave.

Good to see a photo — I thought the company (or ad least the ad department) was being run by teenage boys…

I had a chance to smell this at the Elements Showcase and it is just lovely. I know they are known for really edgy perfumes, but I felt that this was really a sophisticated scent, something that I could give to my mother and sisters (who tend towards more traditional perfumes than I do) and they would agree that it is beautiful.

Ok, I love their perfumes, and he is hot; but is it just me or does their drivel (aka copy) just turn you off? It is so adolescent (ooh, sex is shocking; let’s talk about it!) and mostly vacuous. Except for Secretions Magnifiques, they really haven’t done anything as “edgy” as they’d like to think. Good, pretty, refreshingly unusual at times, yes, but please spare us the blabber! Ah the French, they think they’re so liberated, and end up merely silly…

Well, first of all, Etienne is NOT actually (“a silly”) French. He is actually South African. (And also hence the name of his company, which is derived from a former independent province (the “Orange Free State”) which later became part of the Republic of South Africa. (It was also a former British Colony once). …
      … i.e : Orange Free State = ‘Etat Libre d’Orange
And secondly, if you don’t understand that his entire “drivel” & “aka copy” and image is all done with very much deliberate “tongue in cheek” . Then you really are missing the whole point of ELd’O and all it’s glorious irony !
