Perfume in the magazines, January 2011: Allure, Details, Elle, GQ & Harper’s Bazaar

Posted by Robin on 4 January 2011 9 Comments

Perfume coverage in the itsy-bitsy January issues of Allure, Details, Elle, GQ and Harper’s Bazaar; please comment on any fragrance-related coverage you’ve seen in other fashion & beauty magazines:

Allure

Cover: Leighton Meester (above left)

Scent strips: Paco Rabanne Lady Million

Editorial coverage: The Beauty Reporter feature includes a “Smell This” item in which random passersby comment on Estee Lauder Wild Elixir (p. 30).

Details

No January issue (see last month for the Dec.-Jan. issue info…wait, no need — not one iota about perfume)

ELLE

Cover: Sarah Jessica Parker (above right)

Scent strips: Dior J’adore Eau de Parfum, Prada Infusion d’Iris

Editorial coverage: p. 94, Scent: A Mental Journey, Our beauty adventuress goes on a mind-melding Paris shopping trip for perfumes, lotions, and mood-enhancing elixirs, oh my! by Holly Millea

GQ

Cover: Ryan Gosling (not shown)

Scent strips: none

Editorial coverage: as usual, nothing

Harper’s Bazaar

Cover: Lily Donaldson (not shown)

Scent strips: none

Editorial coverage: none

Note: as always, Kevin wrote up all of the above except Allure. Thanks Kevin!

Okay, Allure’s February issue better have some “juice” for us on fragrance, because they have been woefully lacking in their perfume reporting lately!

    Hugs!

So true! I keep thinking about whether I should bother to keep up my subscription…

I cancelled mine and just buy an issue when it looks interesting.

It’s tempting! I think I’m paid up now through next summer, then we’ll see.

I’m PRAYING There’s a scent Strip of Versace’s Vanitas or Beyonce Heat Rush in the next batch of magazines! Hopefully, they’ll both be in stores within’ the week 🙂

Well, Heat Rush is already in stores at Dillards but of course not my Dillards and they’re all soooooooooooo far away and spread so far apart. I’m really excited for Vanitas!

Vanitas is out too, at least online — Nordstrom has it.

Vogue had a short article about a small naturals perfumery – L’Oeil du Vert. I checked out their website:

    http://www.loeilduvert.com/#/home

Lots of clicking required. Hard to find the scents!
