By Kilian Incense Oud ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 23 December 2010 18 Comments

By Kilian Incense Oud

Niche line By Kilian will launch Incense Oud in March. Incense Oud is the third fragrance in the Arabian Nights collection (see Pure Oud, Rose Oud). Two more fragrances, based on amber and musk, are still expected.

Incense, mystic perfume whose smoke was said to be one of the links between mortals and Gods, is combined with oud, giving birth to a fragrance that is mysterious and warm, yet stunningly modern.

With the creation of Incense Oud from the Arabian Nights collection, KILIAN invites us once again to discover the olfactive charms of the Middle East.

Incense Oud was developed by perfumer Sidonie Lancesseur, who also developed By Kilian Straight to Heaven and Cruel Intentions (both in the Black Masterpiece collection).

By Kilian Incense Oud will be available in 50 ml, $395. (via press release)

unfortunately…I’m probably going to have to sniff this. I love Kilian Rose Oud….and I love incense fragrances….kind of a double-whammy if you know what I mean. yup, I’ll be crossing my fingers that it’s not great (spent way too much lately!) Thank goodness for Saks and their “sure, you can get a refill bottle” policy!

Hey, you probably know — are they doing the Arabian Nights collection in travel refills??

so far the only “travel set” I’ve seen for Arabian Nights is for the Rose Oud —at Saks —and it’s a set with the atomizer and refills for (I think) $235. And they don’t even show that at their website! I think you may have to contact them directly to ask…who knows if they’d actually answer. And sometimes I suspect that they get different options available in France than we do here! (grumbling over the unfairness of French perfume houses.)

Luckyscent offers a special silver Holiday travel atomizer for Rose Oud and a few of the Oeuvre Noir, but Rose Oud (and Liaisons Dangereuses, the one I wanted) was out of stock until February by the time I noticed it. I guess there’s always Valentines Day, too! ;-)

me too, I’ll smell it, knowing how much I love oud, incense and the last few Kilians. I’ve never been able to bring myself to buy a bottle, though. Hopefully this won’t make me change my mind!

Hi, I’m new to the site. Rose Oud is wonderful though!

Pure Oud is one of my very favorite oud scents. I will probably try this, but my expectations aren’t super high. Pretty much every single one of the Montale ouds smell like incense oud! I feel a bit burnt out on the concept.

There have been so many new oud scents in the past few years, I might be getting a bit burned out too.

The rest of the Arabian Nights series were my top most anticipated launches, but the BKs I adore are by Calice Becker. I hope she’ll be back for amber or musk!

I am hoping this will have a hefty dose of incense to overcome the tannic nature in Pure Oud. Very few use enough ‘incense’ notes to have a true smokey quality.

Actually I should be sensible and just go – – thunk—
Rose Oud is one of those ‘fumes that I I don’t want to spray in case I run out…
This series is really pushing the boat out – – yay….

I am expecting to love this – oud and incense are right up my alley. This should come out right about the time of my birthday. :-)
