Jimmy Choo by Jimmy Choo ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 25 October 2010 33 Comments

Jimmy Choo perfume

British luxury house Jimmy Choo will launch their debut fragrance, Jimmy Choo, in February of next year. According to co-founder Tamara Mellon — who appears in the ad campaign — the bottle was inspired by Murano glass.

The Jimmy Choo perfume is a modern fruity chypre, and was developed by perfumer Olivier Polge; the notes include green notes, tiger orchid, sweet toffee and patchouli.

Jimmy Choo by Jimmy Choo will be available in Eau de Parfum, and I will update with sizes when I can find them. (via wwd)

Update: Jimmy Choo Eau de Parfum will be available in 40, 60 and 100 ml, with the 40 ml sold in Europe only. It will debut at Saks Fifth Avenue, and be exclusive to that store through June.

Another update: see a review of Jimmy Choo Eau de Parfum.

Serious bottle lust here too! I haven’t bought a fragrance just because I loved the bottle so much *yet*… but this may be my first!

The bottle is gorgeous but the taffy part is not really up my alley

We’ll see. If it’s tons of sweet fruit + toffee, doubt I”ll like it.

Fabulous bottle but the juice sounds like a gourmand! Not that I mind, it has the potential to be good and I love patchouli.
Laughed at the “sweet toffee” bit – too bad it’s not “salty toffee” or “smokey toffee” or even “tarty toffee”.

That bottle looks like Flowerbomb. (I also thought the new D&G The One looked like Narciso Rodriguez.)

Glad someone else noted it looks like the flowerbomb bottle, except, somehow more “expensive.” Not to mention they do both (seemingly) appear to be gourmand patchoulis…

I love Flowerbomb, and am pleased you came up with a better description than “fruity floral” or “Angel-clone”. “Gourmand patchouli” sounds great!

Yes, I thought it was a flanker until I saw the name!

Not sure how green notes and toffee go together…..

Agree. Instantly saw flowerbomb… and yep, those notes are a match too. I guess Roger Vivier did it–now all the shoe people are gonna get in on the action

Sweet toffee??? Set my gag reflex off. But it is a pretty (albeit , as mentioned, somewhat Flowerbombesque) bottle. I’ll smell it if I see it – not going out of my way for it.

As opposed to sour toffee? (Toffee is a sugar and cream based candy).

I know – I’d love a scent that smelled like the inside of a new pair of shoes.

Yes, but I wonder if and when Louis Vuitton would ever do a fragrance. Would it be any good? Maybe they shouldn’t… I don’t own anything by them, but they’re one of the few large fashion houses that doesn’t have a fragrance, I think.

I love that bottle. Reminds me of a glass lamp shade that was in one of my relative’s house when I was a kid.

Oooh love the bottle!! “Chypre?” I doubt it. These days Chypre = soft and musky or anything else for that matter, but never a true Chypre….those days are gone :(

I don’t know about this one, but Mary Greenwell’s Plum, which has just come out, is recognizably a chypre.

Funny… Mellon herself decrared a few years ago (in Vanity Fair) that she had no intention of launching a fragrance. (under the Jimmy Choo label)
I guess the change in the economy means that the company now needs money??

Firstly…. Yes. LUSCIOUS BOTTLE! but then again i thought and think the same about Flowerbomb! LOL!

Juice sounds DELISH! been waiting for this one for a long time… knowing it’s Tamara Mellon and Jimmy Choo i can say i am assured that this isn’t going to be some Linear, Soulless Fragrance (Beauty By Calvin Klein, ANYONE?!?!?!) i can bet this is going to have some Bones to it and i am eager to sniff! if not BUY! (Love Olivier Polge’s Work Anyway!)

If Flowerbomb and Parisienne had a child, it will look like this.

And most probably it will smell like this, too LOL :-D
