Huh? I don’t really get it. And what was up with the Karl Lagerfeld look-a-like? 🙂

What’s up with his face that was a nasty close up.I guess all that sun bathing has taken its toll on his skin.

Which makes the mucho photoshopped ad all the more glaring:

Yeah! I noticed the same thing – all of the sudden he gets all weird plasticky avatar in that last in-color close up. He’s eating a grape, he looks fine, then he looks like a plastic super doll. Super weird for sure. It does indeed look like that weird photoshopped image.

LOL…it’s all perspective. I was thinking I’d rather be dead than have to wake up the day after that…

I guess Matthew has really moved up in the world. I remember when he used to be the spokesman for Stetson Cologne. Matt Damon does a really funny impression of him on youtube on David Letterman.

I’ll never get over his early PR – shirtless, good ol boy, whooping it up with a keg and some pretties. I keep expecting him to rip off the tux and do some naked surfboarding at the end.

I was expecting at LEAST the shoes to come off. And maybe the tie.

I liked the ad. Reminded me of a scene in a Nancy Mitford novel, a party in London that had gone on until dawn, the tired musicians, the bedraggled guests in their limp finery … don’t remember Matthew M making an appearance tho!.

What was the thing about him putting his tie back on, and spritzing some perfume we assume, for a walk on the beach? Just to show that he is the ONE who is fresh after an all night party? So what?

That was strange. I think it would have been a better ad if they’d left the beach out of it.

I liked it until the end, when he prettied himself up for the beach . . .

It’s so odd – guy who straightens things up – that’s the image of this perfume?! Did someone think this will appeal subliminally to exhausted working women everywhere who crave a guy who will help out around the home?

I used to think MM was goofy and gorgeous, but I agree he looks so soulless and plasticky in these ads – worst thing is, that might well be totally appropriate for the scent. Give me Old Spice and the Old Spice guy! Or even just the Old Spice 🙂
