Oh – No!!! I’ll be in NYC on 10/9 for a double-bill (opera in the afternoon and b’way in the evening). Too bad he can’t extend another day’s visit… Guess crowd control might be an issue on a Saturday. *SIGH*
Oh, but your trip sounds so fun anyway!
It’s funny, any time I see these Meet & Greet opportunities, I’m bummed I won’t be able to participate. Then I realize that would probably be best as I would be flummoxed to be in the presence of a lion of the industry like Duchafour. I don’t get nervous around “celebrities”…I even held it together pretty well when I got to sit in on an intimate group conversation with Mick Jones from The Clash. But any time I’ve met any of my favorite authors, I’ve just made a stumbling, mumbling, bumbling fool of myself. I can’t even imagine what an ass I’d make out of myself in front of an in-the-flesh fragrance master. 😛
I would probably do the same in front of my favorite authors! But don’t have any burning desire to meet any perfumers, really.
I was okay meeting favorite authors when I lived in Boston and worked in Cambridge. I even had lunch with Alan Lightman (was it a date??? I was young…). But when I met Tori Amos, I fell apart! I’ve loved her since I was 13, what can I say. I would love to meet a few perfumers – Aurelien Guichard, for one.
Now I know where I’ll be after work on the 6th!
🙂
For the first and probably only time, I wish I was going to be in New York!
He is like a god to me right now. I’ve been wearing Nuit de Tubereuse and Amaranthine all summer. I wish I could be there.
