Pacifica California Star Jasmine ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 5 August 2010 23 Comments

Pacifica California Star Jasmine fragrance

Pacifica has launched California Star Jasmine:

Brook Harvey-Taylor, the perfumer and founder of Pacifica, created this fragrance as a love note to the Southern California neighborhood where she grew up. This sunny perfume blends the laid-back beauty of jasmine with the subtle earthiness of driftwood freshly washed onto the shore. Bright notes of orange playfully emerge at the top.

The notes include jasmine, driftwood and orange.

Pacifica California Star Jasmine is available now at Sephora, in 30 ml Spray Perfume ($22), 10 ml Perfume Roll-on ($12) and in matching body butter. (via sephora)

Update: see a review of Pacifica California Star Jasmine.

Hm. I wonder if they are going to start doing all of the line in the rollerball. 🙂

There are quite a few of them at Sephora. Not all though, I don’t think.

No solid in this one? Maybe later? Pacifica really shows that yes, a really nice perfume can be affordable…and come in some of the prettiest packaging there is. I just wish she’d bring back her frankincense fragrance – even if it was only for the holidays and even just in candle form. See I’m not too hard to please. 😛

Yeah, maybe later? I’d rather have a solid than a rollerball, personally.

Me too-I prefer solids to roller ball anyday. Pacifica really is a nice line, loads of scents that are very reasonably priced. I also like that they usually come in smaller bottles. I’m wearing their Fig scent today-it’s one of my faves.

Just opened my mail and have samples of this scent…yes, there is a solid perfume!

Have you ever smelled ZUM Frankincense and Myrrh? I think it’s pretty amazing, and definitely reasonably priced! Available in everything from edt to candles, body products and linen spray.

No, but now I definitely will check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!

I’m eager to try this — one of my favorite things here in So Cal is smelling wafting jasmine scent now and then as I walk through town. My neighbor has one that’s fantastic. The perfume that came closest to capturing that for me was PG Drama Nuui.

Looks like their spray price has gone up? I remember them being $16 or $18…

They used to be $19.95 for 35-36 ml, so the bottle is slightly smaller (or else Sephora has just reported the size on this one incorrectly) & the price is slightly higher. Still a bargain!

This is great! Pacifica is a fun line, and that packaging is so appealing! The solids and candles make great gifts.

The tube of body butter looks like a new thing too… I’m familiar with seeing the tub.

True – I sort of like the tub.

The Pacifica frags I’ve tried have been really fun and I can’t get over the great pricing. This would be a great fragrance to wear as summer begins to wind down here. I’ll definitely be checking it out.

This is a really great line. I prefer most of their fragrances as candles, but the perfumes are still very well done. I’ve learned not to buy them because I just end up using them as room sprays, but if I was dead broke and needed a cheap fix they would certainly do the job.

Pacifica really does put out some great scents at those prices, and I’m really looking forward to trying this one. Maybe it will join Malibu Lemon Blossom as the cheap thrills that are helping me limp my way through this hot, humid summer…

That sounds nice! Looking forward to this! I don’t care for a lot of jasmine frags, but I’m really trying to get out of my comfort zone lately and just try new things.

I really love quite a few Pacificas and can definitely see nabbing a bottle of this – I love jasmine and the driftwood note sounds intriguing. I’ll have to check it out when I hit Sephora next week.

Anyone know if this particular fragrance smells anything like Star Jasmine on the bush? I’m really looking for a true rendition of that, and so far, no go, but I haven’t tried this one yet…

I would say no, it’s cleaner and more citrusy than that.
