Anyone check out the side-by-side wine-perfume comparison in Food & Wine? I don’t have the issue in front of me, but it was a fairly lengthy article, especially for a magazine not at all traditionally dedicated to beauty, etc. Makes me wonder: if foodies can go out of the way to appreciate perfume, why can’t Vogue, etc.?

Author of the Food and Wine article is Lettie Teague. Here’s a link to the article:

Thanks for the link. Somewhat interesting article, though the perfumery bits are like elementary level (regular readers here will find all the bits that need editing).

Ultimately, I disagree with the premise and the conclusion to the “question”: “Can wine and perfume be enjoyed together.” Pffffth!

Prada Infusion de Tubereuse is getting some serious pitch in the fashion mags over the past month. I can look through the ones I have here and tell you which in particular later on today. I know for sure it was in the Lucky for June 2010, and by that time I’d seen it in at least three different magazines.

Prada Infusion de Tubereuse shower gel and Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia edp are among the Editor’s Picks in the July issue of InStyle. Also in InStyle:

-The launch of Avril Lavigne’s Forbidden Rose is mentioned in What’s Now.

-Bond No. 9 Andy Warhol Montauk, Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb La Vie en Rose, and L’Eau d’Issey were used to illustrate one of the 101 Reasons to Smile This Summer: #39 Perfumes are Light and Flirty.

-Josh Duhamel names “the John Varvatos cologne” as his signature scent in On My Mind (last page).

    -Scent Strip: Versace Bright Crystal

I do think Black is sexy, and I have not smelled the EdP of Insolence so couldn’t say…it is supposed to be quite different from the EdT.
