Tauer Perfumes Carillon Pour un Ange ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 5 July 2010 40 Comments

Tauer Perfumes Carillon Pour un Ange perfume

Tauer Perfumes will launch Carillon Pour un Ange, a new green floral centered on lily of the valley. Per Andy Tauer...

Smelling lily of the valley is always a joy for me. I love the idea that you cannot buy a natural concentrate of lily of the valley, that the flowers resist to any large scale concentration of their fragrant soul. Perfumers may try to come close to the natural fragrance, but you can never quite get there. Thus, you have to wait through long winter months until you can finally smell their green, silvery, opulent and elegant exquisite natural perfume. Building a fragrance with lily of the valley singing in spring was a wish since I started making perfumes. Carillon pour un ange is my tribute to this wonderful forest treasure. It is a green choir of flowers.

The notes include rose, ylang ylang, lilac, green lily of the valley accord, jasmine, leather, ambergris, moss and woods.

Tauer Perfumes Carillon Pour Un Ange will be exclusive to Luckyscent in the US and Tauer Perfumes elsewhere; I will update with size and concentration when I can (but as the bottle is the same as that of Une Rose Chyprée, I assume it is a 15 ml Eau de Parfum). (via press release)

Update: see a review of Tauer Perfumes Carillon Pour Un Ange.

Isn’t it interesting though to launch a lily of the valley scent in summer (or fall)?

The line does not tend towards light, spring-time scents…

That’s true, actually it could make a terrific scent in the colder months.

I don’t know… Vetiver Dance has a lot of LOTV to it, and it’s lighter than the others, I think. I like it in spring.

Can’t wait to try this! If it’s in the same bottle as Une Rose Chypree, I wonder if it will smell more like an extrait, the way that scent did. URC was the most vintage smelling modern perfume I’ve ever smelled, and I mean that in a really really good way. Dense and gorgeous. It’d be great to smell that in a green scent.

I am assuming it will be another “extreme” EdP, but we’ll see.

Aw, crap. I was going to say this has my name all over it, but I’m really iffy on LOTV. Oh, conundrum.

I’m sure they’ll have samples. What’s $3.00 anyway? Of course, if you are like me, you never order fewer than about 10 samples at a time, but then–it’s only money!

Oh, Andy [swoon], for me…? You didn’t have to do that….

Wow, I am so excited about this! Since it’s Tauer, I don’t expect it will be light and airy, but I can’t imagine LOTV at Tauer-intensity. It’s bound to be beautiful, though, and I adore LOTV. Can’t wait! I haven’t been this excited for a new release from anyone in a long time. (maybe since URC, actually!)

They’ve got us in frenzy Tsetse!
What to do! What to do! 😉
You know we’ll love it and succumb to Andy’s beauty
but it will be sweet surrender.
Actually I don’t want to like it,
I still have to get my grubby mitts on U.R.C. first. 😛

I wonder if I have anything with a LOTV note in my collection? It’s a Tauer so this will be a MUST split…I mean SNIFF! HA! Hope everyone had a good 4th!

Carlos, Yosh Sottile has LOTV in it and Tea Rose, i personally smell the LOTV in that one more then the Tea Rose. If the Tauer is anywhere near that (without the TR of course) it will be beautiful. I ordered mine from LS….. can’t wait to smell it

I’m not an LotV person, except Odalisque which I Love (mainly because it doesn’t smell like LotV to me- just gorgeous). But from Andy – this is a Must Try!

This one seems a bit of a sneak attack – I have missed a few blog postings of his, but mostly it has been about his new rose! Hmmm, I will have to sample this carefully – LOTV can be a bit headachy unless it is quite light.

Oh how I love Andy…let me count the ways. His Lonestar Memories is like a cowboy wet dream(did I say that?) I’ll will for sure add this to the list of samples to purchase. I purchased a set of samples from him, and he has a flat ship rate. Plus, the samples come in a cute little Tauer tin with description cards of each fragrance inside.

How, HOW did I miss this??

I know… distracted by the sample of Une Rose Vermeille. 🙂 Anyways, can’t wait to smell it. I have yet to find a Tauer that has been Instant Love, but everything of his that I’ve smelled has been interesting and wonderful and has its own soul.
