Nasomatto Nuda ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 25 May 2010 53 Comments

Nasomatto Nuda

Amsterdam-based niche line Nasomatto will launch Nuda, the line's eighth fragrance:

Nuda is the latest creation in Alessandro Gualtieri's project Nasomatto.

The fragrance invites you to undergo the unexpected tranquility of giving up oneself without concern for boundary, and to sense the hazy intuition of a depth that undoes distance.

It’s a result of a quest to find a vanishing point in nature, the translucence of our senses, nude desire.

Nasomatto Nuda will be available in 30 ml Extrait de Parfum, and can be ordered now at First In Fragrance in Germany; €118. (via first-in-fragrance)

Update: see a review of Nasomatto Nuda.

Yes, but what does it smell like? ;) LOL.

Ok, this is just an unhappy reminder that I have now waited three months for my Black Afgano to ship. I’m about to cancel my order, just because I can’t stand the wait anymore. Well, whatever. Anyway, I really liked that one (obviously) and loved China White, so I’m interested in this. Really dumb name, though.

But will Stella McCartney sue for “nuda” as well as “nude”?

Oddly, this sample of Prix Eaux Faux copy has me intrigued rather than annoyed. I must need to lie on the beach, staring at the horizon. . .

I apologize to Ms. McCartney! Obviously I completely misremembered that nonsense suit.

It was Bono’s wife, Ali Hewson (may have spelled that wrong) who sued Stella. I wonder what ever happened with that. Well, actually, I don’t care, come to think of it.

good memory! All I could remember was it was a cosmetics company in a snit. Nude must be one of the MOST COMMON words used in the name of lipsticks, foundations, perfumes….pantyhose…..

And there is always Bill Blass Nude – perhaps his was the first?

This just shows how much of a nerd I am to know this, but the resolution of the suit was that the perfume henceforth is to be written as “STELLANUDE” – one word, all caps. Rather loud and shouty, doncha think? But I guess they didn’t have a choice – Mrs. Bono backed them into a corner.

      I hear it is jasmine.

There was just recently a Nuda scent, from il Profumo I think?

Ooh, jasmine! That could be good, if it’s different enough.

Ok, the name Nuda is actually growing on me. I’d want to say it with some sort of affectation, though. I’m thinking a Swedish accent. Although my Swedish accent is just the Swedish Chef from the Muppet Show, so perhaps not.

Miz Kitty—did you order from first in frag.? I think I saw an email that said Black Afgano is back in stock…finally. So maybe now you will get your bottle.

Yep, got a “news-email” from first-in-fragrance. It can be ordered now, the bottles are limited, and it will be available on 31.05 at the earliest.

Luckyscent. The ship date keeps drifting off into the distance. First it was end of March, now they say it’s the end of June. I may cancel my order and buy it elsewhere. It’s not even the waiting that’s so bad, it’s the forgetting about that money sitting in my account, set aside for Black Afgano, and spending it by mistake.

LOL This is reminding me of this silly show that I watch – Cougar Town – and they drink so much red wine that it puts me to shame. In a recent episode, they decided to start drinking it @ noon from now on or something like that. Oh, if only. hehe Then there was an episode where Jules, the main character, was going to stop drinking wine for a month. She then regained her sanity – I think she made it one day. If that. Love it.

I’m a huge fan of Amaretto , myself. Goes very nicely with all those delicious gourmandish perfumes I favor. :-)
Besides—can’t drink wine—one of my friends from Germany says that there’s sulfides (sulfates?) in US produced wines…first my sinuses swell shut (oops can’t breathe) then my head starts hurting (either from swelling or from lack of oxygen, take your pick) then if I go ahead and drink it despite my suffering —it tends to come right back up. So, umm, yeah –money saved (to spend on perfume) ;-)

Every wine has a little sulfide of its own, but some wines become an extra dosis sulfide. Maybe it is an option for you to try an “organic” wine (I hope this is the right word).

I was quite excited about this one (I think it;s the pinkness), but ‘jasmine’ isn’t my idea of nude. I wish they would break their resolution and tell us the notes!

Ive only tried Nasomatto Duro. I loved the scent, but i didnt find it lasted any longer or was any stronger than an EDP, or even some EDT’s ive tried. I wish they would make these in a less concentrated and less expensive version.

From what I can recall Nuda is a very very nice jasmine scent with a warm skin feel to it. The floral character is there, even strong, but it is not screechy or shrill. I found it very sexy and am eager for it to come out, to properly test on skin.

BTW, when I went to ask if Nuda was available at my nasomatto counter (I didn’t know it would take so long to distribute!) they told me that for more than three months they were left waiting for a stock replenishment, which had finally just arrived (without nuda). Maybe nasomatto had some serious distribution/supply problems?

Yeah, the rep from Luckyscent said that they were waiting for it to be shipped from Europe, so I would imagine it affected a lot of people. But I don’t care about a lot of people, I care about me!! Give me my perfume!

I need to smell this. Because “nuda” means “boredom” in Czech. There’s far too much nuda fragrances out there, but if this one openly states it, it must be the most interesting scent of all!

the Scent of Boredom would be the scent of my kitchen pantry because boredom makes me graze…..dark chocolate, dry roasted sunflower seeds, croutons, cracklin oatbran, koolaid mix and Keurig coffee cups……sorry but the vanilla and spices are in a different cupboard….

Yes, I was just going to say, that in Russia we also use this word – “nuda” – about something boring.
And “nud’atina” – about something very very boring :))))
