UK retailer Nkd Man ("an online grooming store, providing the very best in men's shave, skin, body, hair and fragrance products from the very best brands from around the world") is carrying the new Etat Libre d'Orange Tilda Swinton Like This, and they've got a bottle up for grabs for one lucky Now Smell This reader.

Want one? For a chance to win, leave a comment. We'll make it easy: you should either say "You have permission to use the email address in my user account if I win" or "You do not have permission to use the email address in my user account if I win". If you pick the second option, you’ll have to check back here to see if you’re the winner. And of course, feel free to tell us your favorite Etat Libre d'Orange fragrance as well, or feel free to just ramble on about Swinton. We love Swinton.

Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment!

The contest will be open until noon Eastern time on Friday, and I’ll announce the winner on Saturday morning.

I will admit that ELdO did not make a good first impression on me with their silly advertising and artwork seemingly drawn by some hormonally crazed 14 year old boys. However, I have been impressed by the perfumes I’ve tried: Bendelirious, Noel au Balcon, and Putain des Palaces. Bendelirious in particular is a favorite of mine, just a really fun perfume to wear, very lighthearted.

I dont have any experience with Etat Libre d`Orange but just by your review I believe that this one is nice and wearable scent because of I love “not challenging or assertive” scents. Lubaska

I would love to win this and of course you can my accounts e-mail address! I have never smelled anything from Etat Libre d’Orange, but I’m absolutely dying to. Tilda also happens to be one of my favorite actresses, she is amazing in ‘Julia’ and I can’t wait to see ‘I am Love’ which comes out soon. This fragrance sounds so wonderful, but that’s no surprise considering she was involved. She so artistic, I wish I was her.

sounds like an interesting scent. i’ve recently been trying nearly the whole line of ELDO. not in love with anything, except maybe Antiheros…it’s so simple, and un-challenging, and almost un-ELDO…but something about the newest lavenders to the market (commercial ones, even) make me really happy. i thought i hated lavender until sometime in 2008. lol

Like This is GORGEOUS – I was lucky enough to test it last week at the fantastic Les Senteurs boutique in London. I would so, so love to own a bottle – please enter me in the draw! You have permission to use the email address in my user account if I win. I wore Jasmin et Cigarette just the other day – I love it so much. Charogne is another interesting offering…but I have to be in the mood.

Tilda, Tilda…Miss Swinton……..where do I begin? The woman is a force. She never fails to intrigue me – I highly recommend her latest film ‘I Am Love’. I haven’t been so moved and enticed by a film in quite some time. Beautiful and inspired work! Also, there’s a very interesting feature on her, ‘I Am Love’ and Like This in the April issue of ‘Dazed and Confused’ magazine.

Tilda Swinton is so completely awesome. She appears in movies that appeal to her regardless of their commerciality, she wears whatever she damned well feels like (and has good yet eccentric taste), she sleeps with whomever she likes and doesn’t care who thinks ill of it, and in short is a totally self-realized person. I wish I could be even fractionally that cool.

I haven’t tried ELO’s first celebrity scent, Tom of Finland, but Rossy de Palma is spectacular stuff and I expect no less of The Swinton.

I have always admired Tilda Swinton – I always love seeing uncoventional *tall* women with brains in movies and the media. She, along with Sigourney Weaver, are true amazons – unique and smart women to be admired which you don’t see much anymore. And Tilda is so beautiful and talented – total wow as the evil witch in Lion Witch and Wardrobe. I first saw her in Orlando so long ago. I loved her neurotic, completely self-unaware character in Burn After Reading. Her chemistry with George Clooney is hysterical. Only Tilds Swinton could be married to John Malkovich and lovers with Clooney! She is always spot on. More women like Tilda in movies and TV!!!

SWINTON is in her own category of cool, for sure. (Go Fug Yourself calls her that, one word, caps and all.)

As far as Etat Libre d’Orange things go, Rien is my favourite: incense, smoke, rose and leather. It has a half-life of two weeks, I swear. I’m a heavy-duty non-smoking jasmine nut, so I found Jasmin et Cigaret a little week and cigarette-y — very disappointing, after all the great reviews.

4 months into la monde perfumerie (not even attempting real French there) and I’ve got 2 Etat Libre d’Orange samples [Jasmin et Cigarette, Noel Au Balcon] waiting in my rather long tester queue. Would love to add this one as well :) Every time I read a book starring a readhead I want to dye my hair ginger again. Also pumpkin pie is my favorite dessert. Also I thought Tilda Swinton was fascinatingly bizarre as the White Witch in the Narnia movie. Who designed that crazy dress? Unlike many, it seems, I adore the Putain. She does, however, occasionally waft a little strongly in the direction of ‘dirty drawers’, which can be embarrassing, depending on one’s company at the time. I also love Jasmin et Cigarette, especially for an occasion where others might be shocked at the idea that one might have been smoking. And I’d love to try Noel au Balcon but haven’t yet managed that. None of the others have done much for me, though I’m working on Charogne right now. “You have permission to use the email address in my user account if I win” I’ve only tried Vierges et Toreros so far, which was an interesting experience! It smelt like toothpaste, then hairspray and then after thirty minutes it was a very nice smoky leather. Pumpkin and immortelle, I just have to try.

I loved Angela’s evocation of Tilda striding through the heather on her way home to a peaty fire, black tea, shortbread and an Italo Calvino novel. Yep, that’s so like my life too. Well, at least with the fragrance I could pretend.

I really like most of the ELO collection: they are distinctive, well-built scents that still don’t take themselves too seriously. I own Secretions Magnifiques (for the hell of it) and Tom of Finland (a lovely juice; no pun intended). I covet Jasmin & Cigarettes (made me laugh out loud!), Charogne (Ah! Baudelaire…), Nombril Immense (how my skin should smell), etc… I could go on.

Oh man, this is one of the only celeb scents I’ve been really excited for! You have permission to use the email address in my user account if I win.

Aside from Swinton’s serious acting chops, I really appreciate how often she shows up on the red carpet either bare-faced or unconventionally made up (it actually bothers me a little when people chastise her to wear lipstick!) Without all the customary rouge and shimmer I feel like my eye is forced to notice how beautiful her actual facial structure is.
