A huge round of applause goes out to everyone who entered the contest, to the judges who helped pick the finalists, and to everyone who voted to help us pick the winner. And, of course, thank you to Beautyhabit for providing the prize, a $150 gift certificate, which goes to…

Ecce Homo by Parfums Irrationalité, submitted by Elizabeth. Congratulations Elizabeth!

The runner-up: Divine Discharge by Mary Shelley Sillage Monsters, submitted by Quarry Joy.

And the authors of the other entries were:

Apple iSmell, submitted by MFfan310.

Rube Goldberg Gold, Produced by Unconventional Air Craft, submitted by Quarry Joy.

Beautiful Smells the Revenge…ha ha ha by The House of von Hoffhoster von Hosterhoff, submitted by Mlle. Ashley.

Congratulations! Well done, you! It was eminently deserved. What are you going to spend your winnings on? Tell, tell!

And finger-snaps to all the runners-up: you are all more brilliant than you have any right to be. I predict a stellar future in PR for all of you.

Congrats on a well deserved win. I must say it was very difficult to make a choice, as all the finalists had masterful entries. I swear I wanted to buy a couple of those “perfumes”!!

May I extend my Chanel-fragranced hand today, Elizabeth, to concede to your finesse. Congratulations.

My daughter had a funny observation when she learned that both of my entries made it into the final five: Your Goldberg is going to Nader votes away from your Divine Discharge/Al Gore.

I was tickled to learn MFfan310 had contributed the perfectly name iSmell. I know you!

Mlle. Ashley, you could write for Mel Brooks with that “House of von Hoffhoster von Hosterhoff” line.

Thanks, Robin, for hosting the festivities and thanks to Beauty Habit for the sponsorship.

Truly, QJ– I couldn’t decide between the sillage monster and RG Gold– but in the end those sparkling aldehydes with the hangtime of Dennis Rodman got my vote!

We ought to have a prize just for getting two entries into the top 5…and you had a finalist in 2008 too! Very impressive.

Well done to all the finalists and particularly to Elizabeth, my favourite entry. It was just so believable in that “conceptual-pushing-the-envelope-loft-dwelling-perfumer-in-a-black-rollneck-sweater-and-edgy-specs” kind of a way.
