Tauer Perfumes Orange Star ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 11 April 2010 50 Comments

Tauer Perfumes Orange Star

Andy Tauer of Tauer Perfumes will be making a public appearance at Scent Bar (the brick 'n mortar arm of Luckyscent) in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 17 from 1 to 4 pm for the US debut of his new fragrance, Orange Star.

A rich citrus fragrance with a clean orange flower in its heart.

The natural essential oils of clementine and red mandarine render the fragrance all fresh and natural, and add to the unique vitality of the head notes.

The citrus notes give room to lemongrass essential oil: With its unique hesperidic earthiness it bridges to the heart of the fragrance. There, a clean orange flower chord is central, with a hint of translucent violet flowers that support the vibrant and elegant heart notes.

The base of the fragrance mirrors the vibrancy and clean lightness of the heart. The body of the fragrance is centered on elegant ambergris, with a hint of soft woods. It plays with a fine vanilla line, a hint of patchouli and is enriched with a drop of a natural resin from cistus, known as Ambreine.

Tauer Perfumes Orange Star is in Eau de Parfum, and I will update with the size and price when I can find them. (via press release)

If you missed it, you can listen to Andy Tauer talk about Orange Star and the brand's new packaging here.

Update: Orange Star is $120 for 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

I second that! This sounds lovely. I love clementine, orange flower and violet flowers….. and patchouli and ambergris. Have to try this for sure!

That sounds beautiful, especially with the ambergris and resin. And that reminds me, I don’t have a citrus scent. Must sample.

Jealous of those who have the opportunity to go. To think, I could be there, but instead will be stuck at not one, but TWO consecutive kindergarten birthday parties. :O See Joe, you HAVE to go!

Ouch on the bday parties. But all the same I sort of miss those days.

Do you have to stay at the parties? I don’t remember parents staying when I was a kid – maybe one or two of the host mom’s best friends, but not everyone’s mom.

If the party were at their home, I wouldn’t, but I just don’t think 2-3 adults can keep track of that many kids at places like Chuck E. Cheese or a roller skating rink. Especially when mine is the kid likely to fall and break a limb.

I always stayed at parties…..I like to keep an eye on things….it doesn’t hurt that I can tie balloon animals and am an expert face-painter….yes that’s right it’s my “claim to fame” —I always had the longest waiting line for face painting at the school fairs…even when other stations were line-free! Ha! Ok, ok…doesn’t help much on a resume, but the kids sure liked me! :-)

Hmm… I can see that – although I would make every bargain on the planet to keep from having to stay at Chuck E. Cheese. That place gives me the heebie jeebies.

I trade off with my husband as much as possible. I use excuses like “I hate water” (when it’s a swimming party) or “I don’t know the parents” (when it’s somewhere else I don’t want to go – he knows I’m social phobic). But, it’s wildfire season, so he’ll be working.

When, when, when will Andy come to this coast. (Like Dustin Hoffman in TOOTSIE refering to NYC–“This is a coast, too!”) Love Andy’s new look–on his blog, he has been great about sharing stories of how it came about and the suspenseful wait for the new bottles to arrive from France. They are terrific and I can’t wait for this new “orange juice” –must have some.

Andy Tauer came to NYC about maybe two years ago to Aedes I believe it was for the Incense Rose debut (could be wrong about which frag) but he was there and I purchased the Incense Rose then and there. I am heartbroken that Aedes has discontinued carrying his line since about November 2009.

I did not even know they’d stopped carrying it, but you’re right, all they have right now is Vetiver Dance. Shame.

Great new bottle. I see one in my future. His style of unisex and masculine fragrances work well on me and I love his rose scents. I just bought Incense Rose in what is now the “classic presentation.” :)
