I take it the By Killian is still a 50 ml bottle? Unreal. For that money, it should have had at least 200 ml to make it worthwhile!

No kidding – I don’t know why their overpriced packaging bothers me more than other houses overpriced packaging, but it does. Maybe it’s the attitude behind it all, I’m not sure- but I do know that it makes me cranky.

Sadly, I fell in love with Back to Black, but I still couldn’t bring myself to pay for a special box and such. Happily, I found out that if you order the travel refills from Saks online, they don’t ask you for your original atomizer or anything – they just send you the juice. Yay!

Oh good!! Because that’s what makes me cranky about By Kilian, is that they try to prevent you from not paying for extra packaging. I do think that Carole Midy set is gorgeous though.

Of course, the funniest thing about it is that after I ordered it, I kept watching for an email to appear asking for my original flask number or something, but it never happened and it shipped like a normal shipment. Daisy and I chortled like madwomen over beating “the system” – the CEO pretended to be politely interested in my machinations. I got free shipping and 10% off, too.

You get the Gold Shopping Bag award! That fancy packaging – pretty as it is – just makes me cranky, too. I’ve crossed them off my list. (My PERSONAL list, that is. I’ll make no judgments against those who love the house.)

Umm… you wouldn’t by chance be doing a split of that, would you, Cynthia? (shuffles feet… looks at the ground… smiles shyly…)

I haven’t decided if I’m going to split off a vial or two or be greedy, greedy, greedy and keep them all. Feel free to get my email addy from Daisy though – you might have something that I’m desperate to swap for. ;-)

That is a nice bottle. I don’t think I’ve ever read one single thing about Bvlgari pour Femme.

So the specially packaged By Killian is now slightly more expensive than the original? Sorry, the whole idea makes me *very* cranky. I am dying to try Back in Black but there’s no way I can afford the fragrance with all the silly packaging.

The Fracas set sounds lovely, but I am really hooked on the parfum concentration, which really isn’t horribly priced as far as parfums go. I once scored one ounce off Ebay for $60. I don’t think the seller knew the actual retail value of the item and just had it listed among a slew of other frags. I was a very happy girl. :)

See above: looks like you can avoid the packaging by ordering refills from Saks.

Congrats on your buy! Love Fracas.

The Fracas gift set bottles look very similar to the Keiko Mecheri Bois de Santal bottles.

I ordered the 100ml refill of Back to Black from Luckyscent, no original bottle required. Cost the same as the original 50ml fancy bottle.

I’m joining the cranky crew re the Kilian packaging. They should take a lesson from Piguet, for instance. Now that’s a nice package. If the tray came with it, I would buy the set for someone who wears Fracas and keep that gorgeous thing for myself!

Gosh, I was assuming the tray came with it.

Me, too – I’d be pretty cranky if I ordered the gift set from the website and the tray *didn’t* come with it. They don’t show similar trays with any of their other gifts sets, so I would think that it was part of the deal.
