Abercrombie & Fitch says they are suing Beyonce over the use of the name Sasha Fierce, which they say is the name of her new perfume with Coty. Abercrombie says that violates their trademark on the name Fierce. Coty says she isn't using the name Sasha Fierce for her new perfume anyway. Everybody gets free publicity, hooray! If you must read more, there are a gajillion articles on the subject all over the internets. Here's one at the Washington Post. (thanks to Sarah for the tip!)

“That’s nice, Coty, but Beyonce had the best Fierce perfume of all time.” – Kanye West.
Yeah, I just had to do it.
LOL — perfect!
🙂
Awww, man! Beat me to it! 🙂
LOL!!!! perfect!
So if she’s not using Sasha Fierce…..she could name it “Naked Fierce” and get TWICE the number of trademarks infringement suits.
Sigh….what is wrong with these people?
LOL…true!
Heck, One day I’ll wake up to find out that someone has a Trademark on my own name (oh wait…. didn’t Hervé Léger go through that!?)
Sorry, Daisy, that would be “Nude Fierce”.
oops, you are so right Tama!! Should have gone back and checked rather than just typitty-type-post. but seeing how they’re all getting so territorial over common words, it’d just be a matter of time until MAC and Naked Honey jumped into the fray… lol maybe “Naked, Nude and Fierce” ! 😉
I still think they should all just chill.
So that’s what the terrible scourge on malls that emanates from Abercrombie’s stores is called, huh?
At least that monster now has a name.
LOL…and apparently it’s apt.
