I don’t wanna leave here

Posted by Robin on 1 September 2009 16 Comments

A short film from Diptyque, in support of two new candles (Beauty & Beast / La Belle & La Bête) with labels illustrated by Kuntzel and Deygas. According to Vogue, "try Beast for a woody violet aroma, Beauty for a flowery experience or both for a headily scented union."

I found out how you can not only get the song but the whole entire album! I am listening to it now and so far every song is delightful.

I guess I will have to settle with the candles and that lovely video. I went to one of the stores that offer the calendar/cd combo to purchase but it looks like they don’t have a currency converter. I will keep trying but the entire song is what I want! C’est la vie.

Dang it I’m a country girl with only a dial up connection, that video will take about an hour to load for me to watch. Beauty should be a really earthy, green rose, wonder what is will really smell like? Beast sounds great anyway, but I wonder do you know the prices on these Robin?

Sold as a set at 60€….don’t know if they’re in the US yet or what they’ll cost here.

I like the art! I suppose they’ll cost more than the standard line. I have one of their Tubereuse candles — it was $60. One of the nicest candles I’ve ever had!

I hear they’re nice…so far I have not splurged on ANY candles…too cheap! (and all my $ goes to perfume)

I have never heard of burning two candles at once. Is there a certain etiquette involved? Opposite corners or right next to each other? Do you burn them simultaneously or in intervals? =o

I really did love the music and video, though. Just seems like a weird concept. And I think something named beast should smell like a beast, personally.

I think lots of people “layer” home fragrance…I’m too lazy!

Funny you should ask. Actually, from their old website, Diptyque suggests that you can burn two of their candles simultaneously to create your own “unique” fragrance. They suggest that combinations should come from different scent families (for example, never two florals together – floral and woody is a go). They also suggest putting the candles at the opposite corners of the room so that the scents meet at the center of the room. HTH! :)

Glad you like the song, I wrote it! the music anyway, my friend wrote the lyrics.

I have put up some more music on our website now if you would like to hear more of our songs!

btw, I have the candles and I think they are great, but I am more or less a sucker for everything diptyque does so I might not be the best reviewer…
