Bvlgari Jasmin Noir Eau de Toilette, Sean John Unforgivable Eau Fraiche ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 5 May 2009 46 Comments

Bvlgari Jasmin Noir Eau de Toilette

Bvlgari has launched Jasmin Noir Eau de Toilette, a lighter version of last year's Jasmin Noir Eau de Parfum:

Jasmin Noir Eau de Toilette maintains the precious “jus” of Jasmin Noir while adding fresher, more radiant notes. Lotus flower, scintillating sap, Sambac jasmine absolute and white musk are the protagonists of this seductive and innovative eau de toilette.

Once again, the two “Parfumeurs” Carlos Benaïm and Sophie Labbé have created a rich combination of intriguing dualities. Jasmin Noir Eau de Toilette opens with the encounter between the vibrant notes of scintillating sap and the delicate essence of lotus flower. A symbol of feminine purity and grace, the lotus flower awaits the dawn to offer itself to the sun: its alluring aroma transmits freshness and radiance to the fragrance.

Bvlgari Jasmin Noir Eau de Toilette is available in 30, 50 and 100 ml. (via tfwa)

Sean John Unforgivable Woman Eau FraicheAnd coming soon from Sean John, lighter versions of Unforgivable and Unforgivable Woman:

Unforgivable Eau Fraiche has notes of lemon, bergamot, tangerine, grapefruit, juniper, sparkling champagne accord, Mediterranean Air accord, basil, iris, clary sage, lavender, Cashmere and Cool Sea accords, moss, sandalwood, amber and tonka bean.

Unforgivable Woman Eau Fraiche features citrus, neroli, cassis, apple, cucumber, pina colada, orange flower, jasmine, violet, muguet, freesia, cyclamen, amber, coco de mer, vanilla tear, tonka bean and cedar, sandalwood, oakmoss, patchouli, vetiver and iris.

I will update with sizes when I can find them. (via purebeauty, cosmeticsinternational)

I’ll want to try the edt version of Jasmin Noir, though the one time I tried the edp it didn’t knock me out. I assume Sephora will carry at some point.

Just wondering, R, have you decided to mostly stop posting prices in your posts due to them becoming outdated, or what? Or do you still post them when they’re readily available in the press releases?

Joe, I have to admit I have no policy — I post them when the spirit moves me, maybe? I ought to do better. In this case, they were reported in Singapore dollars & did not think that would be helpful.

Depends on the exchange rate. ;) Sorry, was just curious.

Ha…here they are, the “duty-free recommended” prices:
      50ml – SGD 112.00
      100 ml – SGD 167.00

You could put a little link to an exchange rate calculator somewhere off to the side… (you know I’m kidding, right?)

Really, it’s just laziness…although sometimes they don’t list prices and sometimes I can’t be bothered (back to the lazy part) to hunt them down :-)

Maybe I’ll actually smell some jasmine in the Bulgari EDT… It certainly wasn’t ‘protagonistic’ for me in the EDP ;)

It didn’t work for me at all, but I think I’m anosmic to some of the ingredients.

I don’t know how they are going to make BJN lighter. I can barely smell it as an EDP.

It seems to be like Omnia: some people can smell it, some people can’t. I’m in the “can’t” category too.

I can smell the original Omnia but not the variations.

LOL — I figured! Hope you’ll like the new summer version. But curious, since I can hardly smell the regular — do you find it too strong for summer?

I would wear this in the Summer, not on the hottest days, but certainly on most days. (The edp) I still haven’t gotten around to sniffing the edt, maybe today after work :)

I just sampled the edp last week and didn’t get enough jasmine or noir for my taste. I admit a big fondness for sap, tho, scintillating or not. The sap note in the first spray of Omnia Amethyste is awesome and almost instantly disappears, leaving only disappointment in it’s wake; I’d like to smell JN edt only to see if it has that same note, and if it lasts longer. Well, I’m in no hurry. :)

Best sap ever can’t be bought anymore: Gobin Daude Seve Exquise. Depresses me just to think about it.

Nope… the ORIGINAL formula for Parfum D’Ete By Kenzo was the (pardon the Punniness of this!) SAPPIEST Fragrance i have EVER Smelled. Was Just GLORIOUSLY Fresh and Dewy and Springlike! I need to find a place that has the Original Version in the Original Bottle.

“Cashmere accord”? Wouldn’t that mean smelling like wool?

I’m also confused about what “vanilla tear” is.

Cashmere woods, is what it is short for. Relatively mild in my opinion. I like it. I only have a problem with strong cedar/pine notes.

Yes, it’s just a synthetic musky woods.

“Vanilla tear” puzzles me, too, since there is a plant that does produce vanilla-scented “tears”: the styrax tree, which, when cut, exudes teardrops of benzoin, a resin which is used in the disinfectant Friar’s Balsam, which smells strongly (overwhelmingly, I would say) of sweet, thick, balsamic vanilla.

Usually means a Dew from the Vanilla Orchid… think they used that same thing in Tom Ford’s “Black Orchid” but cannot be quite sure…. let’s just say it’s a Light Vanilla Scent! :-)

Since I am looking for an evening fragrance and haven’t smelled the original, frankly because I scared it will be like Opium, Coco, or some other heavy hitter; would this be apropo or the original? I like the notes. What do you think? I’m a woody floral girl.

I dont see much link to the original bulgari or heavy hitters like Opium. I think it could make a good evening fragance, very sensual and stays close to the skin, so they will have to get closer to you to smell it,..hehe. Try with no fear, i got a bottle of the edp last week, I´m a man, by the way and that doesn´t mean it´s a masculine fragance, but maybe a fragance men like

Jasmin Noir just smelled… DANK to me! nothing special at all! Omnia Green Jade i just about Fainted for it’s so lovely! but am SO VERY VERY V-E-R-Y TIRED of Flankers from these companies! can the not devote that time that they spend on Flankers (which in most cases don’t even rearrange the notes of the “Juice” that Much!) and create a New IP? MY LORDY! as it is… I will NOT be smelling this one and usually i love anything Bvlgari puts out, this (Jasmin Noir) was just DULL!

Well, I have a bottle of Jasmin Noir EDP and I actually find it quite strong, equivalent in sillage terms and longevity to Gucci EDP. How weird is that? I take care not to overspritz it as on my skin it packs a punch…

Maybe I should apply to be a sniffer dog on the side!

    1) Want that BJN bottle, but doubt I’ll be able to smell it-Omnia was glorious for two minutes, then died a swift death on my arm…
    2) Were there any notes left that they did not use in the makings of the Unforgivable Eau Fraiches? Because, (sorry for this), but that list is pretty stinkin’ unforgivable in my opinion, especially when coupled with the rest of P.Diddy/Puffy/Sean John/Sean Coombs’ creations. Ugh.

LOL…true, they’re long lists, but I appreciate the detail. Most brands just list a few even if they’re very complicated scents.

I thought Jasmin Noir EDP was hardly a rich or heavy fragrance, so this watered-down EDT would be even more indistinct.
