Valentine’s Day giveaway: Ormonde Jayne sample sets

Posted by Robin on 10 February 2009 22 Comments

Ormonde Jayne wants to help 5 lucky people celebrate Valentine's Day with a free sample programme. The beautifully packaged set (you'll get a better idea of what it looks like by watching this video, but enter first, watch later) includes all 11 of the line's fragrances plus a detailed brochure, and retails for £35.

They'll send anywhere in the world. The sets go to the first 5 people who comment. Hint: keep your comment short, and use the "post a comment" link — replies to other comments will be disqualified! UPDATE: they're taken, congrats to the winners!

After you comment, if you see you're in the first 5, send me an email at nowsmellthis [at] comcast [dot] net with your name and mailing address, and let me know if you want to be added to the list to receive a monthly email from Ormonde Jayne.

Crikey, that all happened in the blink of an eye, while I was working. I may have to seriously reconsider the merits of having daytime employment that clashes with key posting windows!

I own the sample set and I know the winners will love at least one of the fragrances.

Thank you Robin for posting these freebies. You and the perfume houses are appreciated.

Dang! I've had that set in and out of my checkout basket all week. With the current exchange rate, it's really gotten quite reasonable. Guess it's time to go put it back in again!
Very cool that folks are finally doing this with you, R.

What a wonderful offer! Congrats to the winners. And to think I typically check NST almost constantly during the day for updates…but today I was buried in work. Ah well. Someone's gotta pay the bills. ;-) Thanks for hosting these types of offers, Robin!

Well, I may not have scored the set, but I already own Tolu and Woman (you can request two free samples directly from OJ), and the competition made me get my Tolu sample out again, which I had dismissed in my early perfumista days as “acrid sap”. Bear in mind though that at around that time I was buying FBs of Euphoria and Hugo Boss Femme…anyway, 9 months on I was enchanted by Tolu – rich, ambery, green – I was speechless. Having recently also done a 180 on Woman, this shows what a moving feast my perfume tastes are. Which is why I plan to rename myself “Flittersniffer” over on the new site, with thanks to Lovethescents for her major input into the brainstorming session!

I have tried seven in all I think – Champaca, Sampaquita, Frangipani, Isfarkand and Ta'if being the others. Liked ALLof them – it is a wonderful line, in fact, in terms of hitting the spot with me. My luck with Miller Harris and Jo Malone is more patchy, say, to take a couple of other “niche Brit perfumers”.
