Posted by Robin on 21 January 2009 9 Comments

Allure, February 2009Perfume coverage in the February issue of Allure, and please comment on any fragrance coverage you've seen in other fashion & beauty magazines lately:

Cover: Isla Fisher.

Scent strips: Vera Wang Look, Juicy Couture, the new Perry Ellis for Women.

Editorial coverage: The Beauty Reporter section includes a "Smell This" feature in which random passersby comment on the new Guerlain Le Petite Robe Noir (p. 40, where it is described as "fluffy" and "young and fruity").

My Chemical Romance (p. 110) is a feature in which three writers (Kathryn Harrison, Susan Cheever & Erin McGraw) "explore the invisible and transporting power of a simple liquid with an exotic French pedigree". The article includes a Top 10 list of romantic fragrances and a list of 5 best sellers.

Dang, with all of the exciting new releases coming out in the next month or two, I was expecting more from Allure.

At least their perfume coverage this month was better than last month's.

    Hugs, babe!

A bit better, although I didn't really love the article all that much. Oh well…maybe next month we'll get a big spring issue!

i wonder, was i the only one disappointed with the fragrance article in allure? the first story (written by katherine harrison) managed to discuss all the guerlain fragrances she'd tried without mentioning even ONCE what any of them smelled like! how is that possible?
