Kylie Minogue Couture ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 17 January 2009 18 Comments

Kylie Minogue Couture fragranceKylie Minogue Couture fragrance

Kylie Minogue has launched Couture, the fifth fragrance for women from the Australian pop star:

Kylie Minogue Couture captures the essence of Kylie's effortless elegance in a stylish, floral musky fragrance. Couture embodies Kylie’s new aura, a modern icon whose radiant smile expresses her passion for life. The fragrance opens with an enchanting bouquet of amarena cherry, lemon flower and vintage violet. It builds to a deeper heart of exotic ylang ylang, night blooming jasmine and passionflower that illuminates the heart of the fragrance with its subtle exotic scent. The base notes are composed of musk ribbons which give the enveloping feeling of cashmere while the addiction of vanilla sorbet rests upon the timeless elegance of white cedarwood, for a long lasting femininity. The final result reveals a new dimension of Kylie, created around her personality like a tailor made couture gown.

Kylie Minogue Couture is available now at Boots in the UK, in 30, 50 and 75 ml Eau de Toilette. Many thanks to Sarah and Amada for the tip!

I've been watching her KylieX2008 videos nonstop
her costumes are amazing, I want to design her stagewear!! We're the same height and we have similar bodies so we probably wear the same size. I could fit them on myself and send them to her. jk jk jk
I haven't read any reviews of any of her perfumes, but none of them sounded very interesting. I think the only thing I've heard is that they're very sweet.

I love Kylie, and I wish she would released her stuff in the US.
I hate the logo on this bottle though, lol. It looks very early 90's. I hope the fragrance is decent.

    I haven't tried a single one — but I hear they're sweet too.

You can find them at the discounters in the US — or at least, I know you can find Darling here because I've seen it.

Yes; the other's are all sweet. This doesn't sound too bad in comparison. Will give it a try.

But seriously; 5 scents in 2 years? N ot to mention underwear, bedding, childrens books… Paris Hilton is starting to look reserved next to her.

I didn't know she had bedding and a children's book

Does her lingerie line still exist? I can't find it. I remember seeing it a while ago though and not being very impressed

I don't mind that she has a lingerie or perfume line, but only if they're well done. I know she has lots of ~*connections*~.

The KileyX2008 tour looks amaaaaazing, she shouldn't be willing to put her name on something that's only “ok”

I don't think her book or bedding range is selling very well. Her lingerie is now only stocked on hersite & in selected oz department stores.

A result of spreading herself too thinly…

But I think Paris has released more, esp. if you count the men's…

True, but dear ole Paris has had a fragrance deal for longer, so it's been 1 new release every year or so (sometime with a matching mens scent). Kylie's team is chucking out 2-3 every year. And – to my nose – they've all been copies of a best selling fragrance.

If I were a betting woman, I'd but a huge chunk on a new 'Darling' flanker this year too…

I wore 'sexy darling' again yesterday and quite liked it! don't think I'd run out to buy another when it runs out though.

Amanda, you're right — didn't think of that part! Ah well, then she's got catching up to do 😉

I agree about the logo. It's very “Cher – Uninhibited”!

Sorry to be a negative Nelly, but I tested COUTURE on my wrist today & it’s a no all around. I love violets, so I wanted to like this. If it were cheaper, I’d say go for it, but as it is; pass.

It’s close to the skin, right of the bat. On me it just seems like violet water. I couldn’t pick up on any of the other floral notes. Maybe during an Australian summer it’d be nice, but any other season & any other country I’d think twice.

Last year I got to test one of Christina Aguilera’s little known fragrances X-POSE DESIRE. I’d say this could have been recycled as COUTURE.

Staying power = Very poor. After half an hour I could barely smell anything

Bottle & packaging = Yuck. I’m by no means an expert on couture, but it looks cheap. It’s something I’d expect to find on a shelf next to Charlie & So…? not with the other fine fragrances.

Thanks — then I won't be sorry that I'll probably never see it in the US.

Hmm, I like the look of the bottle; I think it's better then the ones for her womens releases so far.

I wonder if the scent will get a wider release, of if it's just for the Asian market…

I'll admit I didn't get the meaning of Kylie in the ad; she just waved her arms to porno jazz… [shrugs] I must be tired.

No idea what the distribution will be, sorry! The ad didn't do much for me either, but then I don't really know KM.
