Emporio Armani Diamonds Intense ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 5 September 2008 22 Comments

Giorgio Armani has launched Emporio Armani Diamonds Intense, a new, deeper interpretation of last year's Emporio Armani Diamonds:

More irresistible than ever, this captivating new gourmand floral fragrance harmonizes the symbol of femininity, the rose, with luscious, edible notes to create a truly desirable combination. Indulge yourself in the bold rhythm that will capture your body and soul.

The notes include raspberry, rose, patchouli and vanilla.

Emporio Armani Diamonds Intense is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum. (quote via giorgioarmanibeauty-usa, additional information via elle.nl)

Other recent releases from Giorgio Armani: Emporio Armani Diamonds For Men.

I love Beyonce! But I am not an Armani lover – their Diamonds fragrance smelled “nice” but not interesting, I suppose this will be the same.

I like several of the Armani Prive scents, but so far, the mainstream stuff has mostly left me cold (yep, niche snob).

I like several (mainstream) Armanis for men (on men!) quite a lot. Attitude -which many don't like- is one of my favourites on a man. But… so far I haven't liked any feminine fragrances from them. Still waiting for the first feminine from Armani that I would like to wear.

Have you tried the new Diamonds for Men? I haven't yet.

I think this would probably be a bit sweet for me, but it's hard to say. I've only just started learning about perfume (a few weeks ago, actually) – I had always assumed that I wouldn't like it, as my brother was very sensitive to scents when we were growing up, but one curious sniff proved me completely wrong, and now I'm ordering samples like a maniac.
One thing I'm curious about with regard to the ad campaign – what's going on with the positioning of Beyonce's hands? I seriously cannot figure out how that's anatomically possible, given the way her shoulders are posed.

^They just edited hands in front of her holding the bottle. Its the original ad. I'm sure they'll perfect it when the ads hit counters

I can't WAIT to smell this!

I tried City Glam last weekend and was very pleasantly surprised. I don't mind Mania and Sensi either if I spray them just so (or they go a bit sticky sweet, to begin with at least), and Diamonds I wanted to like more than I did – the raspberry opening troubled me but the drydown was not overly sweet woods. However, Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline fills that “cut glass” fragrance niche best of all for me, so I won't be rushing to try this “raspberry intense”, if that is what it is!

It makes her body look really weird!

Wonder if the raspberry is what they've intensified — would be nice if they'd made the base more interesting. We'll see.

Yes. Didn't like that one much, it was quite light, quite young and not very recognizable.

I can really do without seeing any more of this person. They really shove someone in your face so much it shifts the focus. It's not about the model, the model should support the product not take over. Isn't Italian style understated and tasteful?

The men's smells quite good, but I can also do without seeing that guy.

Sorry to come across cranky, but I had to say it.

The perfumes themselves aren't in Italian-style either though, they're in “shopping mall” style — and that, unfortunately, *is* about the model. Can understand why it makes you cranky though!

This one smells EXACTLY like the first. I couldn't tell the difference. Is this one supposed to be stronger or something?

I just got this in a gift bag from a boutique party – I'm going to be using it as a bathroom/kitchen garbage pail deodorizer – slightly nicer than lysol – and it was free!.

Guess I'll be a lone ranger (again!) by saying that I really like this one. Didn't care much for the original–lacking in personality–but they did amp up the base in the Intense version. It's richer and lasts longer. Soft and warm without being sticky sweet. A male friend of mine said it smelled like a nice cup of tea, in the best possible sense. To me, it's like a less dramatic West Side by Bond No 9 (a favorite of mine). Intense isn't a must-have for me, but I'd happily wear it if received as a gift. :)

That sounds nice! I only tested it very quickly on paper, perhaps I need to go back & put it on skin. Didn't much care for the “regular” though.

I absolutely love this fragrance. It is long lasting & not overpowering. I feel it is a romantic flavor fragrance. It meshes well with my body chemistry and I get compliments ALL of the time. Just like when I wear Tous Gold & Tous Silver. I have the Diamonds & the Diamonds Intense. I am surprised that so many on this blog have such a disdain for the fragrance. WOW. Maybe something is wrong with my sense of smell and the others around me. NOT!!!! lol But to use it as a garbage pail deodorizer is a tad bit harsh. However, scents are quite subjective.
