Lalique White ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 18 June 2008 29 Comments

Lalique White cologne for menLalique will launch Lalique White, a new fresh citrus fragrance for men, this month.

Lalique White includes notes of lemon leaves, tamarind, bergamot, violet, white pepper, nutmeg, cardamom, amber, cedar and musk. It was developed by perfumer Christine Nagel, who noted that the spices "...contribute to the freshness of the scent”.

Lalique White will be available in 75 and 125 ml Eau de Toilette and in a limited edition crystal flask, as well as in matching grooming products. It will be at Harrods in the UK next week, then will go into wider distribution in the fall. It will not launch in the US until next year. (via cosmeticnews)

Why for men? I'd wear something like that, depending on how strong the violet note is.

That crystal bottle doesn't look very macho either!

Me too, that sounds like a nice unisex frag..

Sounds like something I might like too, if it isn't TOO fresh.

It is LE, and there are apparently only 25 of them. Somebody will buy them :-)

Who says that things marketed to men have to be macho? I prefer that my packaging not sprout hair in awkward places. I want all scents to be marketed as unisex, the idea that scents have gender is kind of dopey.

I am a little excited about the tamarind (and lemon leaves).

Sounds lovely – judging from the success of Encre Noir, it may be another winner, who knows?

I wonder if fewer men will purchase a fragrance with the unisex label? I actually don't care how they label it — what do I care if they say something is for men?

Encre Noir is great stuff…if this is even nearly as nice, I'll be happy!

Hopefully with Encre Noir under their belt, Lalique has turned the corner and is a serious player in the fragrance world again! If this new one as is good as EN, all the signs are good.

The notes reminded me a little of Eau de Cartier, which I love, and is also a Christine Nagel composition, I believe.

I adore Encre Noir, but it does wear close to the skin doesn't it?

That is a good question. It took me years to be able to buy scent labelled for women in person. And so many web retailers divide scents in “for men” and “for women” categories. And they never know what to do with something like Bulgari's Black: Nordstrom has it under for men and Sephora has it for women.

Could you smell tamarind? I also like Eau de Cartier: are they different enough to *need* both?

It is true, knowing what counter to find something on can be the real challenge….agree w/ that point entirely.

I AM IN TOTAL LOVE!!!!!!!!!!! THAT BOTTLE! THOSE NOTES! I SWOON!!!! This is just Utterly Orgasmically Delicious sounding! I CANNOT WAIT for it to hit the states. Hell i might simply order a bottle from the Lalique Boutique in Paris just to get my hands on this one! I Love All of Laliques Fragrances… (still waiting on Amythest to hit the states) and Encre Noire is truly NOIRE, it is dark and deep and peppery, almost not my taste but it does grow more subtle as it dries down, But WHOO, it is a Dark Fragrance! This is most likely the Reverse of that, Since Noire does mean Black i guess this is it's Counterpart. SUMPTUPOUS! I Must Have It! :-)

Gee maybe they should have released this as Encre Blanc, in a white bottle shaped like the Noir bottle. And then the third one in the line could be En Blanc et Noir, with a bottle like a piano keyboard…. :-)

I think Perles de Lalique is further evidence of the house's success – it's a beautiful dry, peppery rose chypre. Love it and looking forward to this one!

I smelled this today – and think it is rather lovely and a great spring scent:) Completely unisex, yes.
Starts with a big bright burst of pepper – white and black, I would say. Then the citrus, but it is very smooth. The rest of the frangrance is cool and spicy, no aquatic notes, thank God!
Really thinking about investing in a bottle. A great counterpart to Encre Noire, which is a staple in my family:)

Thanks! If it’s as good as Encre Noir, I need to try it.

Hi! I like this scent a lot, but in my opinion it is too dominated by white pepper, but with the other range of ingredients make a nice, delicate and elegance mixture! Defenetly, I`m a fan!
    And the bottle!
