Kenzo will launch Kenzo Power, a new fragrance for men, this coming August.
Kenzo Power was developed by perfumer Olivier Polge, and features notes of spices, bergamot, coriander, cardamom and woody amber.
Kenzo Power will be available in three sizes of Eau de Toilette, the largest at 750 ml, in a "spare mirrored metal bottle". (via cosmeticnews) Update: "An abstract floral heart leads to a base of tolu balm, cedar wood and labdanum." (per purebeauty.co.uk) Another update: see a review of Kenzo Power.
Other recent launches from Kenzo: KenzoAmour Indian Holi, Kenzo Vintage Edition, FlowerbyKenzo Summer 2008, 7:15 am in Bali.
Montana has launched Montana en Turquoise, a limited edition fragrance for women, with the tag line "all of summer in a perfume".
The fresh floral marine scent features notes of aquatic accord, bergamot, ylang ylang, white orchid, vanilla, musk and hot wood.
Montana en Turquoise is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum. (via news-parfums, nocibe.fr)
Rhymes conveniently with 'flower' and there's even one in the ad yet no floral notes are mentioned. Still, sounds nice.
I suggest Kenzo name the next Flower flanker Flower Power 🙂
I think they're hoping it will be another Flower, in other words, a pillar for the brand (they don't really have a masculine pillar). Flower Power would be perfect!!!
I suppose you are right that they need a (new) masculine pillar now that the original Kenzo PH (in the dark green bamboo bottle) is not exactly selling by the dozen anymore. In fact, I think their L'eau par Kenzo is far more popular.
Anyway, I'm already seeing a flanker for the teen set in not too distant future. I shall call it *drum roll please* Shower Power! 😀
Shower Power! Perfect. Kenzo has their path all laid out for them now, LOL…
Exactly! LOL
Um, 750 ml?…! And here we are, pleading for more 30 and 15 ml bottles. But who listens to consumers, right? *sigh*
After Tokyo, I don't know if I have very high expectations, but I HOPE it is good.
It doesn't seem likely that the largest size is 750 and the smallest is 30, does it? I guess they want to be sure you've enough to bathe in.
I kind of liked Tokyo, but nobody else did, and admittedly it wasn't exciting or “pillar fragrance”-worthy. We'll see how they do w/ this one…
Is this the summer of the Turquoises? First the eau by Parfum de Nicolai, now this Montana? Anyone want to guess whether there'll be a third?
It sure looks that way! Trying to think if Ralph Lauren started this off in '05 w/ Pure Turquoise, or if there have been others.
Hmmm I hope Power won't be as intensely spice-kitchenesque as Air (which I thought smelt nothing airy) was.
I cannot remember Air at all!
Here's a run down of the notes
Top: Bergamot, Coriander, Cardamon
Middle: Jasmine, Freesia, Rose
Base: Tolu Balsam, Cedar, Labdanum
It starts of somewhat soapy in smell, but dries down beautifully and builds to such a great deep scent with the warmth and sweetness of amber coming throught after an hour or so.
Thanks!
