Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy, Vicky Tiel Sensuel, Couture & Destiny ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 19 April 2008 29 Comments

Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture

Coming this fall from Juicy Couture, Viva La Juicy, the first flanker for their eponymous fragrance. Viva La Juicy...

...is described as a gourmand scent, with notes of gardenia, caramel and praline. It comes in the same square-shaped bottle as the original Juicy Couture fragrance, but features a bright pink bow and shocking pink outer packaging.

Look for Viva La Juicy in September; I'll post the size and concentration when I can find them. (via cosmeticnews) Update: Viva La Juicy is available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum, and additional notes include honeysuckle, jasmine, amber, vanilla and sandalwood. (via nordstrom)

Other recent launches from Juicy Couture: Dirty English for men.

Vicky Tiel Sensuel perfumeVicky Tiel has launched three new fragrances for women, Sensuel, Couture and Destine:

Vicky Tiel Sensuel (shown) features notes of cyclamen, raspberry, violets, black pepper, fresh leafy green accord, jasmin, lily of the valley, gardenia, marigold, musk, vetiver, sandalwood and vanilla.

Vicky Tiel Couture includes bergamot, cassie, fresh aldehydic accord, otto of rose, violet leaves, iris, vanilla, musk, vetiver and sandalwood.

Vicky Tiel Destine has notes of mandarin, pink peppers, bergamont, luscious fruits, water lily, jasmine, lily of the valley, musk, vanilla and sandalwood.

I believe these launched late last year, very quietly. All three fragrances are available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum. (via perfumania)

juicy has always been one of those brands which i really wanted to love but had been so over the top i could not stand it – it just screams OHMIGOD, I'M A VALLEY GIRLLLLL. recently their bags had become a lot more toned down and so i've been hoping the line would change a little…

could not stand the first frag, the second one sounds horrible too… praline, caramel, *shudder* sounds nauseatingly sweet. i love the packaging though… all their bottles and things are so pretty! i wish they were like the goutal bottles, i would then just get one of my sister's friends to buy and use one and take the bottle, replace it with a better juice.

I have really loved all the packaging too…but putting that bow on the old bottle strikes me as their first misstep. Will be curious to hear what others think, but I think it looks just hideously tacky.

Everything about Juicy is TACKY…their purses, their clothing. Oh it just screams class to have “JUICY” printed across your ass. I have never understood the appeal of this line, it's so horribly whorey and seems proud of it.

It isn't my style either, but I really did think they did a great job packaging the JC fragrances — until this one.

JC is a fragrance that I am ashamed of liking and and won't let myself buy because I don't want to wear it and have a chance of people inquiring what am I wearing. I could never utter the words “Juicy Couture” because they have been the butt (literally, JUICY on the toosh) for years. The description of Viva doesn't sound very exciting, seems a lot like the original. I will have to sniff it (of course while wearing dark Ray-Bans and a trench just in case someone I know will be walking through the department.
As for the bottle, it's appropriate. I think it isn't creative copying the same bottle as before and embellishing it with a pink bow. But, at least it isn't dressed in pink terry with “JUICY” on its bottom.

I'm from Australia, so we only get the Fragrances here, and even then very few people know what Juicy Couture is. I fell in love with the fragrance, the smell actually reminded me of French Couture! And the bottle just looked so grand and elaborate I could picture it on Marie Antoinette's dresser in Versailles! So naturally I purchased it, went home and googled Juicy Couture. And yes their Tracksuits are very tacky and i'd never feel right having any word let alone Juicy plastered across my bum. But I looked at their “couture couture” section and some of the fine dresses they had were absolutely gorgeous and not at all tacky. For designers who have made such an impact with the design of their other products, I am very disappointed to see the same bottle design for this new fragrance 🙁

They strike me as the kind of designers who could achieve great and remarkable things, only they are too busy trying to appeal to the likes of Paris Hilton and Co. with their doggy clothing and such. I hope they grow out of this phase.

I don't know where abouts you are in Australia, but I am from Adelaide and we have Juicy Couture in the Harbour Town clearance store. It IS very tacky and not even well made but I kind of think it is the look that they were going for. The fragrance is not that bad and I agree, the bottle is great.

Alyce, I did not een know they had a “couture couture” line.

Doubt they will grow out of anything — their line sells like hotcakes here.

Definitely, yes, that is the look they are going for.

Gosh, why be ashamed? I'd wear it and if someone asks, lie if you have to.

SO agree on the “at least it isn't dressed in pink terry…”

JC reminds me of my college days bartending and I was 'experimenting' with drinks. The combination of melon and creme brulee truly makes me sick. I don't normally react to fragrances, either.

I haven't smelled Juicy Couture, but melon and creme brulee sounds girly. How would Juicy Couture compare to Pink Sugar? I have a sample of the last one. The Dirty English bottle is gorgeous, that's a juice I would like to like because of the bottle.

Juicy Couture is a sweet fruity floral, not to my taste but nicely done if you like sweet fruity florals. It isn't quite as one-dimensional or straight-up-candy as Pink Sugar, I'd say, but it's still a pretty girly scent.

I am longing for a perfume that smells like fresh baked bread.

    Something simple and natural.

I have a wonderfull handcream that smells like green olives and tomatoes, really nice on itself, and pretty good to put over 'scrubbers' to tone down the bad scents.

MW, Demeter has a rye bread scent (but weirdly, no freshly baked white bread, which is odd). Not sure if you can get Demeter in your area. Who makes the hand cream? It sounds strangely good.

    E. Rye bread really 😀 Thank you for the tip. Demeter is nowhere to be found here but I can try to contact them and see if they are willing to send some samples…why not.?!

Maybe I should do Demeter a suggestion for freshly baked bread..

The handcream is Baume du Jardin Biologique pour les mains,

A la Tomate et a L'Huile d'Olive by L'Occitane, and it is a great light handcream with such a reassuring down to earth smell and just works against nasty perfume odors.

Thanks. Good luck with the Demeters. They are super cheap, by the way, which is part of what makes them so much fun. I just got Dirt, which I am layering with a floral for that digging in the garden experience.

I just got word that Nordstrom will have the Viva La Juicy rollerballs (for around $30) starting July 18th, as part of their Anniversary Sale offerings. You may have to pre-order (not pre-pay) … hoping to get a tester in for it soon.

Update: The rollerballs were $18 and sold out immediately. The full sizes are now in – $65 for 1.7, $85 for 3.4. It's similar to every other fruity floral. I really like the bright pink packaging. But Ed Hardy is outselling it 4-1.
