Lanvin Rumeur 2 Rose ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 18 February 2008 14 Comments

Lanvin Rumeur 2 Rose fragranceLanvin has launched Rumeur 2 Rose, a new limited edition flanker scent to 2006's Rumeur for women.

Rumeur 2 Rose is a crisp, luminous interpretation of the original Rumeur fragrance, tailor-made for glamorous and spontaneous women! The new limited edition fragrance from Lanvin is a marvelous escape in the form of an irresistible, sparkling citrus cocktail.

The fragrance notes include citron, orange, bergamot, green notes, grapefruit, pear, rose, lily of the valley, honeysuckle, musk and amber.

Lanvin Rumeur 2 Rose is available now in Asia, Australia and parts of Europe; no idea if or when it is coming to the United States. It is sold in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette Parfum. (quote via efragrance.com.au, additional information via obchodni-dum-lyra.cz)

Update: see a review of Lanvin Rumeur 2 Rose.

I believe it's coming to the US. I know someone who has an advance bottle.

I've tried this. It is available in Aisa right now.

A huge dissapointment! It seems to be the fate of all these sequel fragarances: watered down, fruity, candied, and most of all, artificial!!

that's terribly disappointing. do you know of a really good citrus floral that's not candied and artificial? my holy grail would be a fragrance that started out citrus, bloomed to a stronger floral and dried down musky and clean- not too gourmand, not too cologne-y

I still want to give this a try. I like Lanvin. (I wore the original men's for many years)

Was wondering if maybe this was geared towards the Asian market, as most companies gearing scents towards the Asian market do just that: water it down, make it sweeter & fruitier.

Great rec. Also perhaps one or more of the Nicolai scents, like Eau d'Ete.

What a shame… the original (well, the updated original! lol) is lovely and one of my keepers.

Doesn't work for me, but I know lots of people love it. In this case, I might actually like the flanker better :-)

thanks for the recommendations. I've got samples of the two Nicolai scents on their way and I will definitely track down Ormonde Jayne Osmanthus and giff it a sniff.

I know this is a very late addition to an older post, but wanted to mention that I received an advanced bottle today. It has none of the 'buzzing' of original Rumeur, and the citrus is not pronounced at all. It is deeply rose, but not dark and nothing like Stella or Valentino's Rock N Rose couture. It is crisp yet soft, clean (no murky bottom notes). It's soft on the skin; it wears pretty closely. However, I only gave 1 spray to one hand, so I don't have the 'full effect'. It's definitely pinked up, but no pink pepper or berries – Thank God! lol My verdict: eminently wearable, feminine, perfectly balanced. I think R2R is going to be a much better seller than the original Rumeur. Definitely. I'll be keeping this bottle and using it occasionally, when the mood strikes. :)

I'd guess it is going to sell much better too. I think Angie will review it soon.
