Posted by Robin on 16 February 2008 10 Comments

Stella McCartney Stella Sheer 2008 fragranceStella McCartney will launch this year's limited edition summer version of her original Stella fragrance in April. The 2008 bottle for Sheer Stella is done up in frosted pink glass, and is meant to "express Stella McCartney's passion for modern art".

The Sheer Stella fragrance has been updated this year, and features notes of spicy white rose, peony, white freesia, pink pepper, white musk and raspberry.

First Leaf Juicy Jewel fragranceJuicy Jewel is the debut fragrance from beauty company First Leaf. The scent, "inspired by the aura of the apprentice Geisha", launched in Japan last year and is now available in the United States:

The Juicy Jewel scent is the convergence of traditional with contemporary. East meets West! It is feminine and independent, trendy but also classic. Who wears it? The young woman willing to step out of society’s norms and express her unique personality. Juicy Jewel is a Gen-Y brand, worn by the optimistic opinion leader who wants a fun, sexy solution to her fragrance, bath and body needs that is as adaptable as her fashion taste.

Juicy Jewel is a tantalizing array of scents and body products made of exotic fruits, flowers and nourishing oils. The top notes combine an enticing hint of peach, pineapple and black currant. The middle notes boast layers of provocative florals – Asian Jasmine, Damask Rose and fragrant Lotus flower. Finally, the base notes of musk, amber and heliotrope deliver the sensuality and sexiness of Juicy Jewel.

Juicy Jewel is $49 for 30 ml Eau de Parfum. (via juicyjewelusa)

I'm definitely not the target market for JJ and the notes sound like the same old fruity nightmare, but what an adorable bottle. How come nobody else has come up with bright florals against a black background? I'd like one that contains a scent marketed toward cranky middle aged women :).

That bottle really is pretty, in fact, I like to have both of the bottles above.

There must be *something* marketed to cranky middle aged women but I can't think of what it might be, LOL…

Bottle-wise, I really like stella McCartney's one, so pretty… have to admite JJ is quite exotic and special, but is really not my style…
Scent-wise, think both are quite “generic”, should be very wearable, but i won't take the trouble to try…

Whatever it is, if you find out, let us know, because I am sure I need it. 🙂

I do like that JJ bottle, too.

I'll definitely take Sheer Stella. 🙂 I love the original, and the lemon note of the sheer version in past summers hasn't worked for me. Looking forward to trying the update! Just wish it weren't such a big bottle.

I like the original, didn't love last year's Sheer but will try this one. Agree on the bottle size!

LOVE LOVE the bottle of Juicy Jewel… the juice sounds… meh … but the bottle is divine.
