Demeter Jelly Belly Collection ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 8 May 2007 6 Comments

Demeter Jelly Belly Hot Fudge Sundae perfumeThis month, Demeter introduces the Jelly Belly Collection, a new set of fragrances inspired by Jelly Belly jelly beans:

Eating one Jelly Belly jelly bean at a time is yummy, but Jelly Belly aficionados know the pleasure of combining different flavors to create "recipe" combinations for new gourmet taste sensations. Devised with definite flavors and proportions in mind, Jelly Belly jelly bean recipes provided the inspiration for creating the Jelly Belly Collection by Demeter Fragrance Library.

There are six fragrances:

Blueberry Muffin ~ "...an enticing and wearable mixture of the deep fruit of the blueberry and the best of the cream, butter, sugar and vanilla a baker can to offer, balanced to perfection. This is a true treat for the senses."

Sugar & Spice ~ "...a unique and compelling combination of hot cinnamon, spicy jalapeno pepper, cane sugar, bubble gum and Tutti Frutti Jelly Belly jelly beans. This is point and counterpoint at its best, a real sensory delight, served up in a creative combination, as only Demeter can."

Wild Blackberry Peach Cobbler ~ "...is a light, sheer fruit and citrus fragrance with unusual body and depth. The depth comes from the wild blackberry, which is the center of this fragrance, supported by peach and topped with lemon. It is unusual to center a fragrance around blackberry, and that unique perspective is both apparent and well served in this one-of-a-kind scent."

Mango Pineapple Salsa ~ "...a study of opposites, the spicy jalapeno pepper playing off the sweetness and fruitiness of the pineapple, with exotic hints of mango peeking through. The result is not the typical linear Demeter fragrance, but a more complex brew that goes from fruity to spicy to an exceeding and clean dry down, while retaining touches of the fruit and spicy jalapeno. A very special fragrance."

Fruit Salad ~ "...is soft, crisp, inviting, and of course fruity. The heart is fresh peach and tangerine, supported by juicy, ripe pear and raspberries. They all blend perfectly together, but you will also be able to pick out each individual element in this perfect blend."

Hot Fudge Sundae ~ "While the dominant note is chocolate fudge, you will find whipped cream, vanilla and Jelly Belly Very Cherry blended subtly into the mix. Enjoy the richness, and... the lack of calories."

The Demeter Jelly Belly Collection fragrances are $20 for 30 ml Pick-Me-Up Cologne Spray or $39.50 for 120 ml, and are also available in Calming Lotion and Bath & Shower Gel.

Other recent releases from Demeter: Apple Blossom & Cherry Blossom

I have not managed to try them yet myself. Some of them sound too fruity for me, but hopeful about the hot fudge sundae.

I bought the fruit salad one just for kicks. It's pleasant, no real depth to it, but better than one would expect. I think I'd rather kids wore this stuff than the sickly sweet Pink Sugar stuff. It does not last long, but hey, what can you expect?

My faves of this set were the Hot Fudge & the Sugar and Spice. Fruit Salad isn't my thing, but totally agree it beats Pink Sugar!

I just saw these sold at marshalls for $7.99. Loved the blueberry muffin, good amount of ripe blueberry and creamy cake. I bought it, and will wear it to see what reaction it gets. lol
